for anypart that requires multiplayer yes. it is a playstation requirement

Your so wrong, all free.to play games on ps do not require ps plus, the same.should.apply to d2 from.the 1st of oct.

They are just offering year one content at no charge. Edit - It sounds like it is possible to play the story missions without +/Gold, but I'm not 100% on that.

If PS+ works anything like XBox Gold, you'll be limited on what you can do. A buddy of mine started playing D2 a few months back without having a Gold membership. I couldn't join his fireteam. He couldn't join mine. I don't even think i could get into a chat party with him since he didn't have Gold. You'd likely be able to do story missions, adventures, and MAYBE solo-queue in strikes, but you wouldn't be able to do crucible or gambit or really anything with friends you might have on the same platform.

You will need it for anything but story, just like now. Free to play has no bearing on it. Playstation and Xbox require you to pay them to use multiplayer. (strikes, pvp, raids, gambit, etc)

I haven't let my + lapse since it's inception, but isn't it required to even play D2? I know it wasn't needed for D1, but I thought you couldn't even get into D2 without it.

TBH, I have not used my ps4 in probably a year. I have heard tales of people being able to play solo story without it but that is all. I have not tried it myself.
