Bungie, I've just about reached my breaking point here with your game, and I'm highly considering leaving after yet another failure in your game that you are refusing to acknowledge.
Personally, I know what to expect here. You'll ignore me for probably close to the thirtieth time now, and then there will be others of you who will come in here jumping to Bungie's defense on the manner. But frankly, I've had enough of this bull and honestly if you ignore me here, then my point to be made here will be completely justified.
The problem here lies in your so called "smart-loot" system which was apparently added to the game with the release of DLC1. In a past interview, it was stated that this loot system would: Keep track of rewards you've earned, versus rewards you haven't earned to highly favor rewards that were not earned. Why then, after completing Hard Mode for the 11th time, do I have six repeat gun drops, four repeat armor drops, and shards/energy like no tomorrow. I haven't even received the CoC or the Sparrow, and yet it sure seems like all of my teammates are basking in the rewards. In my final run this week, all five of my teammates got the CoC, and I got repeats with the exception of one new item this week.
The answer is simple, your reward system is bugged. I even have a friend who has received the full brunt of this bug with the Vault of Glass, receiving over 15 The Last Word drops from Atheon on his runs (I swear he has a 100% drop rate of this gun). And this bug only is worsened by the Raid's lockout system which only gives you one shot a week to get a drop. When it's impossible to track down the source of the bug or to pull out of a game when bugged, it only furthers the aggravation at the game. So, why am I writing this post?
The problem is you're taking out the most important part of the development cycle, the human aspect of it with your robotic feedback. "Thanks for your feedback, we're listening" is nothing more than a slap to the face of all of your loyal fans who honestly want to help you to make this game better. I WANT to help you make your game better, and yet I haven't even been recognized once for any of my efforts in my posts here. All I've ever gotten from anyone here is nothing but complete disrespect and heat, and that was for posts I've made coming to your defense. You then finally come around and make posts asking for our help, and guess what, I get absolutely nothing from you in return.
"Thanks for your feedback" isn't good enough anymore. You need to get your act together and actually come in and acknowledge the problems in your game. Don't give us the "We'll look into it" and then never post again either. If you look into a problem, at least get back to the thread and inform them of your findings.
I have a programming background, I understand that the game's reward system, like the heavy ammo glitch is deep in the codebase, and that fixing the problem will likely take a while. So if you can't fix the core problem for some time, why not at least help the players to make it better? Here's another one of my ideas on how you can resolve this problem for the short run while the bigger problem is fixed.

1 ReplyEdited by Kavod556: 2/4/2015 5:19:20 PMI've only been getting shards and energies along with armor drops with zero weapons in my last few CE runs. All I want is a Gjally and nothing else but I feel your pain and disappointment.
