Alright prokillers, here's your chance to school somebody who will actually appreciate it.
Quick backstory; Last time I played an FPS in PVP was when Marathon was hot property, so some of my problems may just be because I'm really rusty.
Anyway, what's the deal with PVP in Destiny? I feel like I'm just doing it all wrong...every time I blink somebody gets me with a one-shot kill and it doesn't seem to matter much what weapon they're using, or what I'm trying to do to stay alive. None of my weapons feel anywhere near as powerful as what the other team is using. Honestly I really want to like the Destiny PvP experience, because I've got a sentimental attachment to Bungie and this game is lots of fun for me in PvE.
So help me out. How do I get the most out of this game? I've got military experience (which basically boils down to having a great deal of training in following instructions) and lots of time to kill once the game ships (retired), so if you folks can boil this particular PvP system down to some basic tactical and strategic elements I'll be able to pick up on it and have fun with it, but right now I'm feeling pretty worn down after having the brakes beat off me repeatedly in the beta.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts (and for the inevitable insults from the kids table).
p.s. Don't think I'm blaming the game...obviously people are winning at PvP, so the system works...I just down understand how it works yet, so I'm not one of them.

1 ReplyIf you are really bad, here is some tips i think will help you a lot. 1: Don`t use your sprint, always walk. 2: Hold your ground around a hot spot on the map, but not in the middle of it. 3: When you move, always be near cover. Move around touching the walls of the map. 4: Try to make sure enemies can only come at you from one side, point above is very relevant to this. 5: Watch were your team-mates are, if no one is around move towards them but keep a little distance, make sure you are covering a part of the map were its most likely that the other team are coming from. 6: Use a auto rifle with high impact. 7: Have a shotgun ready when you know the next fight gonna be close range. 8: Don`t engage at long ranges, even mid range if you feel you don`t have the aim to win gun fights. 9: When the enemy have any sort of map control, don`t be that guy who tries to push his way through a heavy guarded point on the map and die over and over. 10: Always look on the radar, if you see someone they see you too. Have patience and don`t walk right into a trap, make them come to you. Most people don`t have patience to wait, and they will charge you. Be ready and kill them.
