Think about all the complaints you see with strike matchmaking. Do you really think raid matchmaking will be any better? I think there will be more Complaints because there's more commitment to a raid than a strike
Edit: quoted from depredasion
I think it would be hilarious. I would go into matchmaking and troll the ish outta people
Are you REALLY SURE you want matchmaking?
Edit 2: wow, 300+ replies. Getting mostly no, a few yes
Some people are asking, why don't you want it? Just don't use it.
Here are my thoughts.
Think of it like taxes. We bought the game, we're contributing to the devs pay checks. I'd rather that they spend their time making something cool or fixing something, rather than making something that is doomed to fail.
Most people that have trouble putting together their own groups either don't have mics (which you don't want on your team, more than likely), or aren't experienced or skilled (again, undesirable)
Another thought: how does hosting work? If someone trolls, what can you do aside from quit? Some want kicking. Who gets that power? What if you get kicked because you don't have icebreaker or gjallarhorn?
One more: what about checkpoints, how do they work? Have to start fresh? Choose your own? Then people would just MM for Atheon hard mode, which would be even worse.
Edit 3: here's a poll

Yes, but maybe a pre-lobby where all players can talk before it starts. You don't want a lvl 27 joining your hard raid...

4 RepliesEveryone is dumb. Matchmaking would be fine. I have the raid combined maybe 50 times all with randoms from the forum. Usually people know what theyre doing. And if they dont then leave. It would save people so much time.
-
So don't use it. Why deny other people the chance honestly? I don't see how it affects you at all. Continue using your 1337 clan or finding the perfect LFG team. No one would force you to use it.
-
Sure. But as an OPTIONAL thing. People can't seem to factor that bit in. Plus if the VoG is old news, tried, played and beaten and there is a new Raid, why not add an optional matchmaking feature for something old?
-
I think if it's implemented correctly then it would be awesome. Maybe make a sort of penalty for leaving early? Not sure but would be nice
-
Why not raid to 3? And matchmaking
-
Watch it become useless and no one will use it just like that chat function everyone complained about not having.

Hell no
