Cables running out the front of a controller? Blasphemy! The PS4 is the only console to have this!
In all seriousness, is it really a big deal?

BTW they are wired controllers, how did that help. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Atari-2600-Wood-4Sw-Set.png That's my era, can you see the ports? Amiga A500/+ can you see the ports lol

You were meant to put the 2600 on the ground though (its why the cables on the controllers are so damn short) - it was intended to be packed away once you were finished playing on it.

Gaming back then in itself was cutting edge, and technology was evolving.... It was a big deal to just have a console... But either way it still doesn't explain away a design error. So its time for a change, I'm now looking at a 4k TV, somehow the new consoles aren't so cutting edge this round all a bit disappointing really..... Looks like its time to sell up, and soup up my PC for multi monitor, 4k gaming. At least I can customise the case to how I want it, the way I want and nobody bats an eyelid lol. Thanks for the input and the friendly banter!

Of course it is, its 2014 and we are in the era of 64 bit computing and wireless controllers. I have my console/s racked up in a stand, all my other entertainment gear have ports that are available at the back, just seems like a backwards move. Not sure if the PS3 had a rear or side USB, I'm an now an ex-x360 and still a PC gamer normally. Just a weird frankly!

The PS3 has front and rear IO - the one I have has a bloody card reader, too.
