So the exclusives are game breaking
So watch the video - the PS exclusive gear is the most powerful in the game ie "the armors upgrades make it superior to all other equivalent armors"
So level 20 armor that better than all other legendary armors
I guess have fun with everyone only wearing this armor ever. So much for different load outs with no clear choice as to which piece of gear is the best and balancing different choices
*I know this could just be sony overhype, but if it's not true, then bungie should be reining in the false advertising by their partner
EDIT: there seems to be some confusion that this a console war issue, it's not. My problem is that everyone will be wearing the same set because it negates the whole point of a balanced loot system

It's not game breaking if the its on one console, if it were cross platform (x1 vs ps4) then yeah I'd understand.

So, Xbox won't have this problem.. Reality though, I highly doubt that squeaky guy's comment is accurate about them being the best out there. By the time you are a lvl 20 you'll be shooting for legendary gear and not rare DLC armor, just my thoughts.

Clements said the upgrades were more powerful than any other weapon class, and since montecarlo and hawkmoon are exotics, that makes sense to me

Also, if you think everyone's going to look the same with this gear, how do you think people are going to look when they start farming raid gear? Everyone will look the same just with different colour schemes.

1 ReplyThey have said from the start that there will be armor and weapons out there that give you an effective level of 30 or more despite the cap being lvl 20, meaning that while armor like that may appear to be game breaking, in reality it is designed to be this way. I'm willing to be that there are weapons and armor far more powerful that you can get end-game than the PS4 exclusives.

I am really psyched to get these armors to say the least, but the issues you address seem like very legitimate problems. Hopefully the armor level will not be as high ranked as the endgame armors, if it is it could be possible these armor sets will hurt the experience of completing end game content.This seems very unlikely, because bungie isnt stupid and would not spend as much time and energy on the endgame content only for there to be no reward. Also if these sets require work to achieve and are not in the vault on launch day, this could cut back the amount of players we see running these sets. To end all concerns though Bungie would only need to implements a costume system/vanity armor. Solving all issues with the custom look of a player's character, and this would help build onto customization we already get from the armor shaders.

No where have I read that you get the gear at launch. It's exclusive to playstation for a year. For all we know we might have to earn that gear.

You do realize ps players can't play with Xbox players. So it's balanced between who you are playing with.

1 ReplyIt ain't OP, and if it's level 20 gear then it'll be in storage for a while, and in that time you'll be taking a gander at a bunch of other armor and upgrades that may be more to you style.

There's tons of exotic and legendary items thought out the game man. They're probably just lying, and they probably haven't even showed the best stuff yet
