Which one do you prefer?
I prefer the PS3 controller because its sturdier and better in design, IMO.

Why are you guys not paying attention to the XB1 and PS4 controllers? X360 by the way
-
I prefer 360 pad, but why are we talking about 7-8 year old controllers that are just going to be thrown in a storage box in just a few months? Would maybe be more relevant if this were a DS4 v. XB1 controller thread/poll.

1 ReplyMind, every controller beats the "Chubby" original Xbox controller
-
When you get pissed and throw a PS3 controller at the wall you break the controller. When you throw a 360 controller at the wall you break the wall.

Edited by Sapid: 9/1/2013 4:12:51 PMPlayed PS for years, got an xbox 360, instantly loved the controller more. Of course it took some time, but I honestly wouldn't be able to go back to the PS3's controller without a lot of time getting used to it. I played an entire run-through of ratchet and clank and still wasn't completely comfortable with the PS3's controller by the end. Its not that the PS3's controller sucks, its just that its not as good as the xbox 360's controller in terms of the joysticks and shape (which are all the main factors in comfort for me).

1 ReplyThis isn't a fair competition.

1 ReplyA major downside for the PS3 controller is my fingers slip when I use the triggers. The 360 is very comfortable and my favorite of the two.
-
I can use both of them with no problem. The 360 controller is very comfortable with great triggers. Analog stick layout makes sense. Button placement is okay, though I find myself hitting the start button by accident sometimes because it's located so close to the X button. The Dualshock 3 is like the Dualshock 2, which I consider one of the best controllers ever made. However, I'm not a fan of the L2 and R2 "triggers", and the analog stick placement isn't as good as on the 360 controller, but I'm used to it. Overall, it's a solid design that just works. However, it's all about the D-pad. The 360 D-pad is one of the worst, if not the absolute worst D-pad ever made. It's just uncomfortable to use, and imprecise. The Dualshock D-pad is leagues better. So, I'm gonna have to go with the Dualshock 3.

Face buttons: PS3 D-pad: PS3 Analogue sticks: 360 Shoulder buttons: PS3 Triggers: 360 Overall shape and size: 360 It's a tie for me, I can switch between the two no problem.

And soon we will face a new war. Not one of consoles or games... But one of controllers
-
Xbox 360 no contest. When I'm holding a PS3 controller it feels like a little baby bird that will break if I actually grip the damn thing. It's designed for people with small hands and is perfect for them, but the 360 is much better for people with big ol' shovel hands. Also, Triggers feel like pulling a trigger on the PS3 it's just clicking a button that your hand slides off.
-
The Xbox's design helps thumbs not bump so I prefer that.
-
My hands are to big for the PS3 pad
-
1 ReplyThe ps3 controller is better build quality. The Xbox remote has gaps that separate each panel that can quite clearly be seen
-
I like the X360 design more, but it depends on the genre im playing. X360- Shooters and Action RPG's PS3- Fighting games
-
I like the RB & LB Button for the PS Controllers, The Joysticks position for the xbox but the feel of the PS controllers Joysticks. The 1,2,3,4 buttons for the PS3, but the Feel of the xboxs design and the xbox's RT & LT triggers. Both of their D-Pads suck for anything.
-
The 360 controller is one of the best, but the PS series of controllers are really good too.
-
Both. PS3 for quicker button reaction Xbox360 for precision

Edited by Braydzz: 8/31/2013 5:32:39 PMThe 360 controller is better for my bigger hands and I hate the convex joysticks on the PS3 controller that aren't rounded underneath and the triggers are convex too which make it so your fingers can easily slide off if you are playing racing games. When I got the last of us I played it for about 3 hours straight and my hands started hurting I can play the 360 for 6-8 hours and not have any pains in my hands.

1 ReplyEdited by I Am The Guitar: 8/31/2013 1:57:01 AMI like the Xbox 360 controller a lot more. My main gripe I have with the 360 controller is the D-pad and batteries but then again I have rechargeable ones. With the PS3 I hate the triggers, convex analog sticks, it's size, and how NOT sturdy it is and It feels to light. IMO

Xbox triggers, Xbox analogs, PlayStation buttons, PlayStation d-pad, PlayStation bumpers, PlayStation shape
-
1 Replyopinions on design is subjective. sturdiness actually isn't. the 360 pad can withstand much more of a battering before it breaks.
-
1 ReplyThe left stick feels better on Xbox. It stays in a resting position while being the most used because of moving your character. Right stick is perfectly placed for twitch control and easy access to the buttons. Then again I'm biased.
-
1 ReplyI usually don't argue opinions, but the PS3 controller is sturdier? Have you ever held one compared to a 360 controller? I could break one in half.
-
1 ReplyXbox 360. Less hand fatigue, better spread on the thumbsticks. I have big hands.
-
The 360 Controller is one of the best out there. Very well designed.
