Is Bungie really changing their whole view on gaming? I mean I know that they said Destiny is supposed to be way different than the Halo series, but I think that Very many elements from Halo will be used in this game. What is your opinion?

Edited by Ocean Man: 3/14/2013 11:04:17 PMDestiny will surely share some same things with Halo, but I believe they are changing, but for the better. Bungie's Halo is amazing, and the Halo universe will not be forgotten, they are in the capable hands of 343i, sure they're no Bungie but 343 has opened a great trilogy with Halo 4. Bungie's Destiny will probably have elements from Halo but don't worry, I'm sure its not just a clone. Destiny seems to share the whole humanity is in peril and we must save it sort of theme like Halo but now we are not super soldiers, just Guardians of the last city on Earth. In Destiny I hope we never see our character's faces just like Halo, that was really made me believe that I was in that suit of armor in Halo and not just role playing another person. While Destiny shares many similarity's to Halo, it really is going to be a world of it's own. In Destiny I think that open world elements will be extraordinary, one minuet you are trapped by Cabals and all odds against you, the next a group of Guardians see you in trouble and help you out. What a feeling that would be, it will immerse you into the game, making you feel as if you're not alone and part of something big. Destiny also has lvls that might affect you in shared world or noncompetitive multiplayer, something new Bungie is doing. Bungie also has factions, what role these factions play no one know's for certain, but my speculation is that these factions are not enemies but not allies, I think they work for one common goal because it would be silly for them to be fighting each other when the only hope for survival is a giant ball and the Guardians, yeah, it seems like the aliens have the upper hand. Spaceships are nothing new for a Halo fan, but it seems Bungie is taking the spaceships to a whole new level. They say the spaceship is your mobile home and I'm guessing how you get to certain destinations. Now lets talk about things I want to see in the game, I say want to see because this is just pure speculation. Lets hope that Bungie can deliver with competitive multiplayer. I know there are classes but I think Bungie can keep the competitive multiplayer fair and fun. I also like to see a melee class, one that uses knuckles, blades, knives, and such this is just because I love close quarters, I love long range fighting too, but the feeling of slicing a guy is just great. I really hope Bungie delivers with Destiny, until then be brave, and I'll see you star-side.

Halo =/= Destiny Although, since Bungie is going through another transition phase of universes with Destiny as their new IP, no doubt people will be comparing it to "Halo" since that was their last major universe. Critics do it, fans will do it, everyone falls into place somewhere. I am personally ready for something different. It will be a FPS, but nothing we expect knowing Bungie.

1 ReplyMy opinion is to let them do what they are going to do. I don't think we should be saying that Halo should factor into Destiny any more than people would have said Goldeneye should factor into Halo. Just because some game has a winning formula doesn't mean that the company has to use that template over and over again. That's why COD sucks balls now.

1 ReplyIf there isnt "Halo" influences in Destiny it will be a small mistake. Halo made Bungie blow up and get the traction they need for a game of this caliber. Everything will be fine and Destiny will not be just another version of Halo. Bungie seems to smart for that and we dont want that.

It already looks somewhat similar to Halo. But that's probably because Bungie likes round things. And cyborgs with armor called MJOLNIR who work with AI who are going insane, but only time will tell if those are in Destiny too.

7 RepliesIt's still an FPS, but Bungie plan on doing some new and interesting things to mix things up. The only description for Destiny is a BNGFPS.
