Allow them to be born in a dangerous environment, and make them die in one of the slowest and painful ways possible?
Why does God put you in hell for not believing in him? Are the billions of non-christians going to spend an ETERNITY of suffering?
Just questions I have regarding the Christian god. Anyone who can answer please do, it's been bugging me.

Edited by DEZARATH: 5/3/2014 3:55:31 PMIt's more a question why does humanity allow it to happen? The combined efforts of all the super powers could eradicate hunger and oppression instead of wasting their time on proxy wars and misery.

6 RepliesTo the title: You know, if Europeans and such hadn't gone in killing and pillaging the tribes and hunting all the species to near extinction(then later put bans on hunting them), and had instead started trading and helping develop the tribes a few hundred years ago, then Africa wouldn't be the shit hole it is now. Tl;dr. blame white folks, not God.

2 RepliesDo I really need to explain dumb one? God made us and our life at the moment is a test. We are going to show what we do. Those famous people achieved that(most of them) and most people have to be good in there lives. We caused this starvation so we have to end it. God only helps if it's something WE CAN'T FIX. We can fix this. This starvation in Africa was caused by us now we have to end it. If those Africans are good to when they die they will go to heaven. They are better than scum who can't be bothered to help anyone other than themselves. Even if it is illogical what will you get out of proving this. What will you be relieved or something. Say if God isn't real what will you do go around saying he's not real expecting to look awesome. I'm getting sick of these threads. Just shut the -blam-! up already. Okay! *Puts on Flame suit* Come at me bro! I would rather believe in God than believing we will be completely gone once we are dead. And isn't believing that God caused the big bang more believable than a big bang explosion coming out of nowhere. Yes it is!

Edited by Sapid: 1/19/2013 3:30:30 AMI started to type up something to contribute to this thread, but its pointless, because neither side will give. I would give a simile or something about an argument where either side would never say "You are right, I am wrong" but this argument is a perfect example. 90% of the time (90% of statistics are made up on the spot, hohoho) people who truly follow a religion with full faith will never disbelieve it, and someone who thinks the faith is stupid and false will never start believing over a simple argument over the internet. Hence why this discussion wasn't allowed on old B.net, it wasn't an argument, just a big pot of fire started by a troll who wanted to laugh at the comments (no offense OP...) Everyone in this thread should just stop wasting their time. Meh...probably wasted my time typing this up too, enjoy your flame bait everyone.

2 RepliesNote: I'm currently caught between deism and theism. I've had experience with Abrahamic religions. Concerning Africa, I have no idea. But it's certainly not free will. A verse in Luke echoes their dilemma (but does not say why. Instead it says to repent or you'll end up the same way) and a verse in John implies how it was God's will for a certain man to be born blind. In that case, it was so he could be healed. As for putting people in a "hell" for unbelief, that is nonsense. A verse in James talks about how "demons" believe. Mere belief in a God is transparent. And the Bible constantly mentions punishment for deeds. There's even a verse that rings similar to the overused John 3:16: And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Belief is not that important. The latter is where supposed salvation is at.

Edited by SweetTRIX: 1/18/2013 11:42:16 PMBecause no where in the bible is it implied that life is fair and comfortable for all. The real kicker here is the use of this stereotype when they are so many that are starving in some of the richest nations in the world.

Talk to a priest, not the Bungie community.

Because he's made up. If God was real, and was omnipotent and omniscient like he's made out to be, then he wouldn't let this happen as he would already know that people in Africa would die of starvation. He wouldn't let there be suffering in the world, and he would actually show us that he exists instead of expecting us to believe in him with no evidence and then send us to "hell" if we don't even though he would already know those people would be Atheists.

There is no god, thread=irrelevant

Humans. The so called "leaders" that they live under are why they suffer. And the conflicts that engulf their lands take even more away from them.

9 RepliesEdited by Deleted User: 10/26/2013 2:27:35 AMYeah why doesn't God just take away our free will and make us choose the right choices all the time. Lets use our heads here. People are where they are now because of their choice or someone else's choice. God loves us so much that he never takes away anyone's choice. With every real choice me make we have an opportunity to turn toward him or away from him. Think about it.

Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." I

Because humanity is supposed to solve our problems with the tools we have. I'm not entirely sure I believe that non-believers burn, just genuine remorseless assholes, and I doubt forever... But then, I'm more agnostic with theist leanings, not really a Christian. The failure is on the part of a free willed humanity for not being humane, not on the part of whatever god or gods there may or may not be.

4 RepliesEdited by Dredd: 1/18/2013 11:06:48 PMOh great, more Atheist trolls thinking they're clever when they don't even understand religion to begin with.

7 RepliesFree will. God does not set the path of man, but allows man to choose his own path. These children are the unfortunate recipients of the greed of the men that control the governments in which they are born. Don't blame God for what men do.
