First of all , why keep changing the entire game ? It only gets worse .
They should have made destiny 3 when beyond light came out and then again when they came up with prismatic and especially now with tier loot , new armor stats and the portal . They could have made destiny 3 , 4 and 5 wich is exactly what they did actually but kept removing the previous game by replacing it with the next one in the same game . Make it make sense ..
And for what ? So streamers can promote it ?
Well cheers , they have done that . Now what ? Leave "destiny 2" or however you wanna call it in 2026 as it is ???
Change it back or bring out a remastered of the 2019 version , i would instantly buy it . I don't care about marathon or a destiny 3 if they would even make that cause it would be 100 times worse than destiny 2 in 2026 .
I thought the people that work at bungie were smart and studied and worked hard to be there in the first place so they can work together to improve the game ..
But no .

April Fool’s posts should be limited only to April 1. 3700+ hours on a game that has only gotten worse has to be ragebait.

Edited by Obscure Meme: 4/6/2026 2:29:13 PMI disagree. The primary issue with Destiny 2 on launch is that it repeated the exact same mistakes that Destiny 1 did on launch, but arguably worse due to lack of random rolls, a lacklustre raid in comparison to Vault of Glass, reinventing the wheel with crucible TTK and 4v4, and the fairly good state Destiny 1 was in at that point. The only noticeable improvement was that it had a comprehensible initial storyline when comparing vanilla to vanilla, but this is hardly a high bar. This is not particualry a secret since there was talk about shutting the game down as early as Curse of Osiris, as the playercount was that bad. The transgressions didn't particularly end with Warmind but were improved, and in truth it wouldn't be until Forsaken that you returned to a somewhat baseline level compared to D1, at least from a core perspective. It still took years to get buildcrafting back to a similar state that Destiny 1 had with the 3.0 classes, and armor stats as well. In the particular case of armor stats I will say that this was handled very poorly, and the changes from res/rec/mob/int/dis/str to heath/melee/nade/super/class/weapons was not only questionable as to what the stats actually did, or that it flat out nuked player speed as a whole since for a while this was not changeable, but also it broke well of radiance and bubble since they forgot resilience was tied to their heath pools, and that it was admitted these stats were not playtested in a PVP environment. Currently the poor state of the game is primarily a lack of core playlist content, as we still haven't gotten our content vault back - additionally the majority of existing content was rendered less useful due to the new tiered system.

8 RepliesEdited by Guardian, Archon Of Light: 4/3/2026 8:30:57 PMThe game was an empty shell when it released No rewarding endgame Static Weapons Tokens instead of XP Double Primaries No Special Painfully Slow Ability Recharge Preset Skill Trees I could go on The game we have today, even with the atrocious portal, is in a much better state Your either Lying Forgetting Exaggerating All Of The Above

2 RepliesEdited by Zodleon: 4/5/2026 6:30:54 PMIs it the best game up to modern day standards, no. But it has been massively improved since year one. If they didn't sunset content I might even have been willing to suggest it to ppl who want to experience the story.

1 ReplyTo say there have been no improvements is incredibly ignorant.

5 RepliesExcept that you didn't play when it came out. Otherwise you would remember the outrage about starting with a clean slate.

#RIPKheprisHorn The Bungie Good ol boys strike again

Not a single improvement is crazy Are we playing the same game?

The Final Shape was the ending. At this point they are just milking. Just let the game die and move on.

I think it s very interesting if we one day get some behind the scenes of the business and decisions from Destiny 1 -2.. where they decided on the strategy of not going to 3. Live service... but without a subscription model, Free-to-Play but with absolutely no effort in onboarding... Yet... being honest I can't say there were no improvements along the way. Of course wish we had some better decisions/investments/strategy that didn't make us feel like they said f'it... we are not interested in investing in this and willing to give up these fans... Some of them made massive $... it just didn't have to be 0 sum vs the players imo.
