My number one tip for Marathon... I'm still working on it.

Don't.... RUSH. I rush too much. When I fail a few runs... lose some kit, experience a bad beat I can't explain or understand. That's when I free kit bull rush... and it rarely works out. When I'm focused on one thing... I NEED squid mats (they look like little squid)... If I try to rush to that location, that's usually bad. When I see the yellow marker, I'll rush... I'm not checking my corners and angles. When I finish the final objective... I rush too often. And a lot of times, I fail doing so. Being impatient. Rushing. Don't Rush. And I'm still working on it. 😇👍💠 Wanna see a cool Rook vid that I think emphasizes this? Marathon as Rook is a Horror Game... Credit: Warlord Mdama It's shows patience and I think something else... they got merc'd at the top of the ladder, doesn't take away from their S tier Rook play before that moment. Playing the game is fun... on its own. The loot are just cherries, imo. Above blues and purples. A blue weapon with the right attachments is a great weapon. A blue shield is solid... A blue backpack is great. And so from my perspective, I can buy some purple stuff straight from the armory... and blues can compete and are viable for many scenarios.... then that eliminates "Gear Fear" for me completely. I have gear discipline... like for example, I don't think I'm good enough yet to start bringing my purples in. I haven't tried to do any of my 2 slot keys yet, because I think I'll probably just be giving the loot away... But I'm not afraid to lose any of the gear I bring in. If... You can enjoy the moment-to-moment gameplay.... You can let gear be your bonus. And if you farm enough progression to raise your baselines. You don't rush... Marathon is very fun. A great game, imo. To add: Even odds I win more gunfights than I lose. But there is a lot of times where it's not. Some of those, there's little you can do. Some of those, it's my fault... I make too much noise. I activate a decoy... like a container hack, but I take too long to rotate out/dip. I rush. In Marathon, if you forget that you're ALWAYS in a fight... you'll lose the fight/'war' most times.

 • You should play some counterstrike… it’s the best education there is for any shooter… teaches fundamentals like nothing else…
