Persistent CABBAGE on one Xbox account only across two consoles

Hi, looking for help with a strange CABBAGE issue. I have two Xbox Ones on the same home network behind a Ubiquiti UDM. My own Xbox/Microsoft account can log into Destiny 2 and play normally on either console. My son’s Xbox/Microsoft account gets error code CABBAGE. Important detail: the error happens after character selection, not before. He can sign in, get to the character screen, select the character, and then gets CABBAGE while loading in. This also happens even when only one Xbox is powered on, so it does not seem like a "two consoles at the same time" issue. Things already tried: - removed and re-added the Xbox profile - cleared local saved games - reset network settings / cleared alternate MAC - rebooted consoles and router - confirmed UPnP is enabled on the router - tested on more than one Xbox What makes this odd is that my account works on both consoles on the same network, but his account gets CABBAGE on both. Because it happens after character select and only follows one account, I’m wondering if there is anything else I should check or if this needs escalation.

  • Hello there, Thank you for reaching out. Error code CABBAGE means Destiny 2 is having trouble connecting to activity servers from your network. Since it follows a specific account, not the console, I’d try: Xbox account settings On that profile: Settings → Account → Privacy & online safety → Xbox privacy. Make sure multiplayer and cross‑network play are set to Allow (if it’s a child account, also check the family settings on account.microsoft.com). Network tests & NAT Settings → General → Network settings → run Test network connection and Test multiplayer connection. Aim for Open NAT, and leave UPnP enabled on your router. If possible, temporarily put the console in the router’s DMZ or forward the Xbox Live / Destiny ports to it. Try a different network Test the same Xbox account on another connection (friend’s house or a mobile hotspot). Usually Cabbage means that one network port needed by the game (usually, but not necessarily, port 3074) is unavailable, but I admit your situation looks rather strange. Is there some parental control in place for your son's account? Is IPv6 enabled?
