I admit it, this game became an addiction over the years. Every day, every spare hour, saying no to time with friends, getting behind on chores around the house just to play a few more hours.
Over 6k hours on one account, but I made multiple accounts so I could do it all again.
But the current state of the game has finally pushed me away from the game. I have been outside doing yard work, spending those hours with family and friends, I even lost 20 pounds just because I'm not sitting in front of the game.
Sincerely Bungie, thank you for making the game so unbearable to play. I will now log out of Bnet perhaps to never return.
Adios.

1 Reply85lbs down since last February 😁 spend more time working out or walking than gaming thanks to the destiny collapse.

1 ReplyYeah playing destiny over many other options over the past 10 years has made me look at myself in a new light. It was an addiction.

2 RepliesThe edge of fate reveal was enough to put me off… I love the game… I wish they had made d3 instead of marathon… they could have even put a marathon mode in d3… what’s even more painful is marathon has lost almost half its peak players in less than 2 weeks or so

Agreed

It happens. If you ever come back, hope it’s in a healthy way and you find some joy in it. And worth saying that gamers shouldn’t feel indentured to entertainment that makes you feel bad or drains you. No one will hold it against you. Respect. Time is precious. Per audacia ad astra.

2 RepliesI am done with live service games after the destiny ride.

4 RepliesThey were so dirty too, with how everything went down. Complete silence until they released Marathon. They knew the plan, just gave D2 players false hope. I'm just as guilty though, for having faith in a company that constantly lies and strings people along for cash. The golden days are gone for good with this game and company. See how quickly they correct mistakes with Marathon?

3 RepliesI think this OP speaks for many of us, certainly for me. 👍

Well, to be honest, for game addicts if it's not this game it will be another. My gripe is wasted money for content I don't like. There was no heads up concerning how extensive the changes would be in that they would virtually sunset most of the content, from bounties, venders, etc. Pre-ordering was a gotcha.

I realised 10 years ago when they said in 2014 destiny would be a 10 year project. Then the DLC Final shape. Key word there - FINAL! Yet you still hang on to the game somehow? It was always going to end.

1 ReplyI do all my chores and yard work before I hop on. Always for 11 years that I’ve been playing

And next up your cure from taking quaaludes and watch the movie liquid sky.

Destiny really had a hold on a lot of you. 🤣 It's just a game. Just sad letting this game prioritize over life.
-
1 ReplyHappy for you. What does the grass feel like? ;)

I am so happy for you.... but you may never know how happy I am for you... 😉 Hopefully you inspire others to take that 'next step'...self awareness is very important.

I am playing less and less. Gonna uninstall soon maybe but it’s fine. This game is too old it needs to retire.
-
Good on you for making this decision. Best decision you could make going forward.
-
That is literally the only healthy perspective on the recent development. Well done, guardian!
