Salvations edge is more dead than the witness.

So it has been well over a year since the raid released and the LFG side of this raid is more painful than it has ever been. To save people the time in checking I have not got a clear yet due to how hard it is even finding a team who is willing to spend time teaching. I dont blame them for that i wouldnt want to carry somone for an adverage of 2-3 hours, instead I blame the unforgiving nature of the raid and its mechanics that make a failure into a massive burden. Personally Id just want to do final and get the exotic but it seems even during a week where bows are super op for cheese no one participates in lfg and if they do its an instant lock out for a 0 completion player(s). Somthing need to be mechanically changed with alot of our "Endgame" activities to help keep player retention and motivation to bring those who are on the backfoot get through these raids with the lowest global completion rate.

  • Well after watching a Rick khakis video you should have everything down and complete it first try. That's the expectation of course lol. Streamers and YouTube so out of touch with the general playerbase doesn't help either. Elite attitude idiots these days

    • I love SE and enjoy teaching it. In fact it's the only raid I feel qualified to teach start to finish. I sent you a friend request. Feel free to hit me up and we can grab some others and do it if you want. However, depending on how many people are learning it for the first time it can last for much longer than 2-3 hours. It totally depends on how many veterans there are in the group who know all the roles and can perform reliably. It's not the sort of raid that players can be easily carried through. Everyone has to take an active role. And communication is essential--either mics or the ability to type things in chat quickly.

      • Even the newest raid is dead on lfg. The game itself is pretty much dead. Bungie is even delaying a nothing update the size of Ash and Iron.

        • 2-3 hours? From start to finish? Try 8, and there's no carrying in that raid.

          • Agree… mechanic heavy encounters are not good for most of the playerbase… simple fun activities with some degree of challenge would be fine

          • That raid is pretty unforgiving when it comes to learning. 🤔 I just farmed last encounter and got the exotic that way.

            • I have tried this raid a few times. There wasn’t one moment where I thought to myself thinking “oh this is cool, or oh this is fun”.

              • Honestly it’s why D1 raiding was better. The raids were fun, had good loot and were simple enough. Experienced players could smooth over the mistakes of inexperienced players. I ran sword on OG Crota many times for Sherpa runs as an example. I understand the desire to add more to raids but it reached a point of too much in quite a few encounters in D2. We have been seeing a decline in the raiding population ever since. And for what? The population being higher is more important than Day 1ers getting to sweat their nuts off for 24-48 hours.

                • Would be really cool if we could enter a dungeon, and be able to learn it's mechanics solo, or have a practice run without needing a full fireteam, they can be so forboding Failing solo is one thing, but failing in a group is completely different, watching a guide is not enough either, there are little things they don't teach you, I have to learn by experience to become competent, and you can only spend so much time there, as long as you are with a group, obviously you can't afford to fail much, or test new things on the fly, or you may exhaust your team's patience Requiring such intricate coordination from a strange group of people, communication, and adding mechanics to failure on top, while trying to figure out the obscure way forward, and how to clear it, is asking too much of a lot of people I don't mind the mechanics, it just bothers me that raiding can be so out of reach, and undoable sometimes, I don't want to strain people either, or be a burden, or let others down

                • The thing that stops me from ever attempting salvations edge is just, complexity, time and can I find 5 other schmucks dumb enough to not value their sanity. And legacy lfg is dead because portal. Why do a legacy raid if you can do the new raid and dungeon with a thriving lfg. Still missing some legacy exotics but finding an lfg nowadays is just...tiresome. tiresome as in, if I want to have a chance of thriving lfg posts I need to play at 2am. No thank you.
