Catalyst won’t drop
I have done like 40 hours of crucible farming and over 10 hours of nightfall strikes and can’t for the life of me get the two tail fox catalyst I only have six catalysts incomplete and all I can get is wall watcher boots for my 6+ hours of staring at a private match wall trying to do it the quick way. I am wondering if I am either really unlucky or there is a dev enjoying my despair… does anyone know how to get it to drop I’m losing my mind to where if my friend who is doing the nightfalls with me gets the two tail catalyst when he has not farmed for it a tenth of what I have I WILL stop playing destiny. Thanks in advance!

Hahahaha I just realized that the only other exotic catalyst possible from crucible besides the two tail is the sweet business catalyst aka the only other exotic I have more kills with and don’t have the catalyst for yet. That proves that it is coded in to destiny to not drop the catalyst you have more kills with.😊😊

It gets way worse, I planned to check xur and literally made a joke yesterday about him having the Prometheus lens catalyst which was the last one that dropped for me… xur has the Prometheus lens catalyst and the catalyst for the only other exotic rocket besides gjallahorn which is from a raid or dungeon. If you didn’t think catalyst RNG was garbage before you should now.

4 RepliesIdk if this was ever fixed or if it's intentional, but when you had to many "unfinished/locked" catalysts, other catalysts wouldn't drop until you unlocked some you already had... and you have a bunch of catalysts you started with but didn't finish. I'm pretty sure if you finish some, you already have progres on, the TTF catalyst will

Useless destiny devs and their stupid tantalizing ways. You know that catalyst I wanted and they kept giving me wall watcher gear then a few exotics and the wrong catalyst they do that after 50 hours of wall watching and getting nothing for. They gave it to my friend who doesn’t care for it!!!!!!!!!!!

2 RepliesMy best advice would be to not focus on getting the catalyst. It seems like a weak argument I know, but if you're bent on that alone it'll seem like it takes forever. Change up what you play and don't zero in on that alone and it will drop when you aren't paying attention. "Watched kettle....." and all that.
