Weasel Error after D1 Update

The issue many players are having where we recieve a Weasel error code after logging into our characters is still persisting. We have not been able to play since last Wednesday. It's affecting players using Steam & Xbox Windows app to play Destiny 2, and began after the Destiny 1 update last week. It does not affect players on the Epic Games launcher, or Xbox One/PlayStation consoles. I have restarted the game, clearched cache, reinstalled the game, ensured the game is allowed through the firewall, restarted my PC, opened and forwarded the necessary ports, as well as every other recommendation on both the basic and advanced troubleshooting step lists. I have tried using both wired and wireless connections. I have uPNP enabled. I myself can play Destiny 2 on both my Xbox One console and using the Epic Games launcher. I cannot play using the Xbox Windows app or Steam. Bungie has yet to either fix the issue or release a working recommendation that applies to the players with this specific issue. Bungie has yet to even acknowledge the problem. Can we expect a fix anytime soon before the weekend? I would like to play this game on my PC as it's where I've made all my purchases. I urge any player having this issue (or anyone really) to make posts regarding this issue on X on their pages (@Destiny2Team & @Bungie) until they are able to solve this issue.

  • Just letting you know. I had someone comment on my post about this issue. They mentioned reinstalling windows through the recovery setting in windows settings. It worked for them and worked for me. I had your exact problem for weeks as well.

  • i may have found the solution to this problem at least it worked for me So what you're gonna wanna do is go to ur settings in windows, then go to "system", then you're going to go to "recovery", then reinstall ur current version of windows with all your (apps, files and settings being preserved) follow the steps from there let it reset ur pc or do it yourself once its done updating/downloading then try launching d2 once its done that should be it hope it works for you
