It's incredibly frustrating that the DLC I've paid for it tied to one platform or the other. I started out on Xbox, so it just made sense to keep getting the dlc there. But have a PC that I use for certain games. With the contest Equilibrium dungeon, it seems that the best dps for at least 2nd encounter is tied to frame rate (also an incredibly stupid situation as I've only seen 3 console players that I know clear it, and when I asked, they each had 2 PC players with them). So I installed D2 on my PC and logged in only to see a price tag slapped on just my ability to open up the dungeon again. Just an absolutely botched situation all around. I'd even pay an extra $10 when buying a DLC for it to be tied to my account instead of to my platform.

That would probably need an agreement between the store platform holders, eg Sony, MS, Steam, Epic. They all want a cut, so unfortunately I can’t see it changing. It’s similar with Diablo IV. Although progress, characters, and equipment all sync with crossplay access to DLC areas/chars/gear all need the expansion to be purchased on each platform.
