THAT GUY is now the standard by which Bungie makes it's dum decisions.

THAT GUY. Similar to what was once referred to as 'The Man' in times of old. That Guy is the perpetual agitator, the non team player in your fireteam who's main goal is to feel some self worth knowing more and being better at an imaginary thing for equally imaginary accolades. He's the guy that runs ahead to defeat everything in record time, every time. He boots you for any discrepancies in perfection because of your lack of commitment or perceived loser status. He is the guy that has all the gear on day 2 and posts "must be an expert" almost before the content even comes out......THAT GUY is the one cheating in raids. They are inumerable, brazen, rude, unapologetic, love themselves but ACT miserble, -blam!-, impatient and often insufferable. But. That Guy is also the online mob feeding Bungie opinions that have little to nothing to do with average people. WE don't have the luxury of sitting online all day, sorting out fake problems and gathering out of game info just to play a dam video game. WE don't go through the frustration and stress of an average day to come home and play something equally, if not more, time consuming, laborious and filled with tedium. WE-love the gunplay and the adventures when they feel right. But when you are only having fun a fraction of the time, The payoff verses all the headache and extracaricular stuff? Yeah, it's because THAT GUY became the focus, the loudest and the litmus test Bungi decided to base their game off of. Free hotels/ vacations, getting schmoozed by corporate with all the accolades of a self elected delegate/ THESE are the people that Bungie has crowned as your heroes, the "voices of the people". FOOLS.

  • I'm not trying to be That Guy, but your post had eleven spelling and grammar mistakes. Not saying I disagree with all your points, just that it's hard to take you seriously when you sound like an angry child in the throes of a tantrum. In my opinion, there really aren't that many "That Guys" in the game, they are a minority. After ten years and 20K hours of Destiny I can report that the overwhelming majority of players I interact with are just fine, and 43.6% of them are outstanding; skilled, helpful, and fun to play with. No company is trying to fail on purpose, Bungie isn't choosing the worst demographic to listen to and then making decisions for them. Good grief, this game and community could be WAY more toxic than it is now. Whenever Bungie does something there will always be a couple "That Guys" who will go out of their way to buck the system and grief other players. That's true in every game. I've been here long enough to have seen the highs and lows, and it looks like we are climbing out of a low right now. I'm enjoying Renegades and optimistic about the future of Destiny, because I choose to focus on the positive aspects of the game and how I interact with it. You can't choose what happens to you, but you can control your repsonses. Now if we could just get someone to REACT to my post with name-calling, ad hominem attacks, and baseless accusations that would perfectly illustrate the difference between reacting and responding, and totally make my day.
