Bungie's answer they will not come right out and say: They want you wasting time, it is not about fun but about some stupid metric they use to measure player engagement. Because of said metric, they could care less about your personal frustration, of mine for that matter. Bungie is milking this for everything, hoping they can report some positive change in said metric. In the end I agree, it is a stupid mechanic. It does cause player frustration, and drives players from the game. Bungie is not concerned or they would NOT be making the same repeat bad decisions that they have made.
