There is no more denying it, cheaters are now all over the console scene.
For PvP , input devives are removing recoil, increasing aim assist, and increasing movement tech. We see modded devices that are increasing rate of fire for certain weapons, not new but far more prevalent. Now we have AI assisted devices doing all of the above in a neat package. Playing against new accounts with 100% accuracy, 180 slide-sniping, perfect aim, infinite range, pre-firing your crit-box before they see you.
For PvE which is console plus pc, landing into a fresh activity... activity over, check kill feed and there is one kill between 3 people and it was the boss, so someone teleported to the boss and killed it, great loot farm but pointless. LFG a raid, same thing happens, someone goes god-mode and kills bosses while still in the immunity phase.
This cheating is getting out of hand, it is ruining the game.
P.S. For the stat checkers, this is an alt account, don't bother looking me up, there is nothing to see.

1 Reply70% of contest desert perpetual were cheaters, and so many people on social media platforms broadcast their PvP device setups. Will Bungie do anything, no because that’s a large chunk of lost profit if they decide to act on any legacy accounts.

How can you cheat from a console?

That's a strong accusations coming from the guy hiding behind an alt account.

6 RepliesEdited by Golden: 12/10/2025 7:03:22 PMCheaters stopped hiding it because Bungie dosent do anything anyways. I faced this guy who never missed a headshot or snipe yesterday but had the game sense of a potato. So one of the randos literally stood behind him for a good minute before the dude 180 headshot snipes him lol.

Either the reduced player numbers have resulted in a massive shift in the types of players you'll face, like only 5% of your matches having someone with a kd higher than a 2.0 to 40% having 3 players with that, or bungie's anti cheat is so garbage that it may as well be allowed. It kind of already is in any F2P game considering these people are definitely not playing on their alt accounts. I'm sorry, I've been playing this game long enough to know what is and isn't possible, especially for a controller. And when people are strafing like you can in a game like Overwatch (no movement acceleration, so you can strafe at full speed at all times), the constant slide shooting with perfect accuracy at any range (especially with a sniper), and the game has somehow become more laggy despite fewer players meaning there should be less strain on the servers? Or when you get a guy with a win rate consistently below 10% across thousands of matches and a kd ranging from 0.4-0.7 multiple seasons in a row somehow absolutely shredding everyone in a match and has won 44/50 matches at the time with only 104 played that season? No, no one improves that fast, certainly not maintaining a win rate of almost 90%. Definitely not somehow reaching Ascendent 1 with a kd below 1.0 and a win rate of about 40%. That first set is complete bs and I end up reporting so many people now. But that second one actually happened, the guy still hasn't been banned despite the stats alone this season being proof of a recovery, hacking, or matchmaking manipulation via throwing countless matches. So bannable offense, bannable offense, or bannable offense if not because of what should've been hundreds of suspensions leading to a ban, then a clear case of boosting, which is generally bannable as well. At this point, either Bungie simply can't afford to lose the cheaters and should change the TOS to allow hacking, or they're incapable of giving the hackers anything worse than a minor inconvenience and need to rethink their business model.

Hiding behind an alt account is sus. Don't care what your reasoning is it makes you look like you have something to hide or work for a PR firm.

Bungie doesn't care as long as someone is logging in. They did a purge just before EoF, and once I reached Ascendant last season every match had a couple people with 3-4kd's on brand new accounts during EoF. We all know how many new players were joining then right? Lol And it just so happens they were all PvP gods
