I remember Bungie mentioned GM Vanguard Alerts would be of similar difficulty as old GMs, we expected -40 power level (same power deficit as GM conquests). Went in there and tried a few loadouts, and every one feels horrible. Wish ender and Eriana’s Vow do not one shot barrier shields, Peregrine does about 1/2 of champ health etc. I don’t remember old GMs being this difficult. We were looking forward to new weekly challenges, I guess this is not it. This is a one and done deal for us, definitely not fun to be “farming” like older GMs…
Before the “skill issue” or “git gud” posts, the wife and I are both conquer x 11 and we’ve always played end game in duo. We LOVE decent challenges, but this is definitely not it.

Also worth noting they nerfed all the benefits we got from the artifact with new gear however much of a difference that makes in durability and damage. So regardless of what others say, they nerfed us, then buffed the enemy to be stronger than they were before Bungie started nerfing enemy levels in EOF. Actual GMs are supposed to be -25 now. They were after EOF -30 or -40 sometime before Ash and Iron. And even if I'm wrong in any way, remember that GMs back then capped us 25 below as well and the enemy only had sword icons next to their names, which isn't present now in GMs. Instead these enemies have *skulls*. So if we go by that logic, that's only another reason why they shouldn't be 50 above us. I only did it once and I'm not touching that again. I'd rather wait until the only 2 pinnacle drops I do want are the daily focus weapons in the pinnacle ops. At least there the difficulty can be adjusted in a number of different ways to give players the best chances of success as was one of the main "selling points" of the portal.

Edited by CORPERATE COMMANDER: 12/10/2025 7:39:58 AMYep using a heavy on a boss and noticing that using your primary is doing equal the amount of damage nearly ( i was using hammerhead with Rewind rounds/target lock hitting for about 22dps and my secondary pulse rifle at like 18dps a sec make that make sense lol) ,having to use the most broken of metas to keep overloads from regeneration to full health instantly in less than a sec of them being unstaggered. gms are harder. it is true we are hella powerful, but it is too much. and if you don't hae the light saber, you are probably throwing, so this is a pay to win. i wanna shoot guns, and not reflect with praxis blade.

I agree, I just cleared it with 2 other guardians and guess what, two of us were: Stronghold + Praxic blade and blocked our way till the end. And even then we had less than 1min left. It’s cheese or nothing, the other guy had a solid build, GR11, and yet he died 10 times. At -50 it is completely overturned but somehow I was expecting something ridiculous. -

Definitely something wrong with wishender, pre eof it was always my go to anti barrier, did the conquests last night and it is now terrible. 2 shots if you're fast, if not champ starts Regen

That's because GMs are a part of the Old destiny. The one Tyson Green doesn't like. And since we want those and not the conquests. Bungie's idea is to make them worse than ever before, then giving them back without their weapons, without the title, without the same difficulty. And paraded as a favor AFTER they deleted it in the first place when NO ONE -blam!- asked for them to get rid of it. Tyson Green doesn't have a -blam!- clue as to what the vast majority wants. If he did, several hundred thousand players would still be playing. Not leaving.

I think they meant old old gms like season 10
