Some Positive Feedback for Bungie

Hi Bungie, I wanted to provide feedback on this item vault filter thing – not because it’s an issue, but just wanted to use it as a general example of how as players, we sometimes panic or get frustrated in our initial reactions even though you’ve done nothing wrong or provided anything with an unexpected behaviour. With all the negative feedback you’re getting, I’m hoping this could help your team to know that there are players who understand your frustrations, etc. Just wanted this to be an encouragement to everyone working on the game! In case I caused other players to panic for no reason (because I already got an unexpected bunch of views on the original video in less than 24 hours!), I just wanted to explain a bit to clear up confusions. In the video I took, you can see that I’ve applied the duplicate filter. When I take one of the two items (the duplicates) out of the vault and into my character’s loadout inventory, both items disappear from the vault view. The same occurs if you were to delete one of the two items (see resolved x-ref bug report post below). This follows Bungie's BRD and technical reqs perfectly. It’s correct behaviour and it makes technical sense. When the user deletes/removes one of the two duplicates, they’ve taken an “action”. The software then “refreshes” the screen. Since the duplicates filter is still active, the software automatically doesn’t display the item anymore (even though there’s still one left). And if there are multiple duplicates, the rest will remain. To have the software remove the filter every time would mean unexpected behaviour which leads to poor UX design. Imagine having to re-apply the filter after every deletion or move!!! What a headache that would be! That said, from the user experience perspective, when I first deleted one of two items and the remaining one disappeared from view, I panicked. I wasn’t expecting that behaviour right off the bat and I thought the game had deleted both items instead of one. This was my fault for the knee-jerk reaction. Once someone pointed out to me that it is working correctly, I was able to calm down. I’m not asking for a change, but I just want Bungie to know that I and many other players get it. It’s a constant battle to “marry” the technical and business reqs with user experiences. They couldn’t have expected me to panic when I deleted 1 of 2 items (and I apologize for the panicked bug post!). Anyway, that’s all! ^.^ Thank you Bungie for your constant hard work on the game!
