Look. I get the game isn’t doing well. As someone with nearly 2500 hours put into d2 and 900 hours into D1. I really care about the game and would love to see a return in player count. The class update is nice and all, but players are used to changes. Making things stronger and small adjustments aren’t something that is amazing/surprising. To draw people in you have to create new original work. Just like the new super editions in final shape. All the other classes need a third one as well. It will be refreshing and really draw people in. ESPECIALLY new darkness ones. I would argue a completely new class itself would intrigue players enough to join (nightmare, taken, earth, wind, water, etc). I’ve heard rumors about SPR and I think that is genius and should’ve been implemented years ago. The fun multiplayer modes that aren’t just the usual pvp style is fresh and original. As for exotics, copying other IPs is just disappointing for players and makes them roll their eyes (the lightsaber). Destiny 2 is NOT Fortnite and needs to stay away from guns/skins that take away from the originality of destiny universe. Although I personally bought some skins from different franchises I heard a lot of fellow players complain about them and how they ruin the Destiny universe. I personally find D1 as a waste of server space and it has beyond run its course. It needs to go down to save space for D2. You can bring back planets from d2 launch along with some d1 planets (Venus) and their side quests. Add onto them as well if need be. The problem with edge of fate is the story overall. Stay away from the nine and let them be mysterious background characters that influence the universe. You don’t need to show everything. Them staying out of the picture and being Gods that work in the background works much better than putting together a weird story to show them off, just making the mystery disappointing. A massive mistake you guys made was the episodes that killed stories that you could’ve used for extra years instead of taking care of large issues in two months. As a last resort, you guys could look into D3 with the ability to create better graphics for modern/future console power. A restart that would allow players to feel a new story ahead. Hell, I’ve thought for years that we should have been sent back in time with no way of getting back. Helping with all of the things in the past. There is A LOT of lore to cover from the past and a lot our guardians could experience/help with. This would excuse losing our abilities again (time manipulation effecting our bodies) and guns being lost because we went back. You could then tackle different issues you already have slightly covered and show different characters along with those that are younger. This would also help explain how our guardians were so trusted and rose in the ranks in d1/d2 because people found it strange how we went from new to top tier. Areas (towns) that are ruined will be able to look normal and wars can be tackled. Guardians don’t age so it would make sense for us to help years and years in the past. Youve even done this slightly before with Saint and his gun. You could create completely new supers that work with the time and new enemies that we handle, explaining they were wiped out entirely before the time of D1, thus they were forgotten and not explained in d1. Or the area where you’re sent back can have those enemies drawn on the walls as a sign they weren’t completely forgotten. Going into the past can allow the story to be restarted, giving a solid excuse for losing our abilities/weapons/armor, and push players to jump into another game. Instead of pissing everyone off by restarting our levels in edge of fate and pissing everyone off. Making us feel like we lost all that work we put in the past 7 years.
