Please change old gear disadvantage in the grading system
Ok, so new gear gets damage & resist bonuses, fine. Just let me use my old gear in the portal and still have a chance at an A grade. This is the single biggest pain point for me in the new expansion!

3 RepliesThe thing I hate the most is that only a few exotics are "featured" and get the new gear buff. And it doesn't include exotic class items. Because they don't want players to use their favorite stuff, nor do they want Prismatic players to benefit from gear they farmed. Also, removing the exotic artifice slot from the class items was stupid as hell, too.

When I learned that having nothing but new gear on gave you such a high grade multiple all I could see in my head was the meme of someone just going “PLEASE, use the new gear, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, I beg you, PLEASE”. If this new gear is so good I should want to use it, not feel handicapped stat wise, bonus damage wise, or bonus score multiplier to grading while farming for power wise.

This is “soft sunsetting” all our previous gear and weapons. Only new gear and weapons will benefit you in this and up coming seasons..,,or what ever it will be called. I haven’t bought this and am not going to. I’ll stay around 200 when I get there cause grinding to max only to have it wiped and have to do it again is crazy. Destiny is over. This is fill and poor fill at that. I still play my Rise of Iron as it is better than this.

20 RepliesMy old gear is holding up just fine. All I had to do was farm a legendary class item and I’ve improved my builds. My adepts are better than anything they’ve offered. None of my gear is “sunset” like the 10000 posts here claimed. It’s exhausting correcting the amount of nonsense that’s posted here on a daily basis.

You don't need to use new gear unless you select the modifier that restricts you to new gear or if you do the conquest stuff which has that modifier.

I’m assuming you’re using the new gear only modifier. Just use the locked loadout modifier and you get even more multiplier. I’ve been using sleeper stimulant and speeding through it all.

8 RepliesIt does feel bad having to pick from a limited number of armors and weapons in order to get a high score. What's the point in grinding all this gear over the years if I'm going to be penalized for using it? I've got dozens of Exotics I enjoy, but shouldn't use because it'll put me at a disadvantage. This is going to be especially true at higher end where we'll need top quality loadouts to compete, but 7/8ths of the gear we've got in our Vault makes us less competitive. The railroading doesn't feel great.

Huh? Not sure you understand how it works mate. Grade A isnt always available regardless of what you use.

You are right the old gear got me through the campaign and even some of the expert level stuff just fine. now my biggest fear is that bungie's going to see posts like this and they're going to be like "you know what they're right" And the pull one of the bungie special moves and go in and absolutely nuke all of the old gear..

Eventually, the newer base stats at higher tiers will have us sunsetting our old gear ourselves. Making vault space management up to the user. It's a sneaky way of putting it on the player solving 2 things at once with "hands off". I wouldn't be surprised if there are all new gear sets with each new season/ expansion.
