Bungo… The current power level is designed for SUPER GRINDERS that have no other jobs or responsibilities but gaming 24h / 7 days a week.
There was another method to power up quickly (Encore) but you took that away…
How many people will get there to 400 power level relatively soon? Maybe 20% or 30% right 👉 So approx 70% of the entire population will either QUIT the grind or perhaps QUIT the game entirely at some point during this season… Fantastic…
Don’t you think the power grind system has a serious design flaw with 👉 player engagement & retention?

Edited by TheAntispider: 7/28/2025 4:12:29 PMDoes Bungie actually know who their "population" is?(I don't think so) I read a lot of "posts" in the forums, and who knows if THEY actually read/comment on the "feedback", I believe before the layoffs I saw "replies" from Bungie. When they say they're "collecting feedback"....it's probably from social media mostly. I don't think they know -blam!- is playing D2, it probably more cost effective to collect data from "streamers" for them. I don't think EOF is terrible, there is a lot of things to like....But a lot of things they did you wonder who "asked" Bungie for it, seems a lot of peeps are NOT happy with a big number of changes. Just my initial thoughts early in EOF.

Im what you would call a "super grinder" i do in fact work but I 100% agree. The majority of the player base in fact are not super heavy grinders and making the current system only appeal to those who have even more time than I do is just making the game worse.

As a solo player who is forced to be a solo player due to lack of matchmaking options it all seems insane to me. The only point to get to 400 is so that you might have a chance to get gear that’s as good as our old gear was….. what? Then in a few months you are reset back to 200???? I got to 200 yesterday haven’t found a single piece of gear with good stats. It’s all garbage in the 50’s. So for a solo player there’s no real way to even play Destiny anymore. Right? Can’t get gear, can’t get anything. Well I’m off to run devils lair for 20,000th time.

It’s pretty intense how much grind it takes. I hit 400 today and I’m shocked that they think a majority of players will like this. Personally I’m ok with it because I love to grind my butt off, but it’s not good for the health of the game for everything to be like this. IMO we spend wayyyyy too long getting T2s and should really start the grind earning T3s

The be happy with that you can achieve. Hardcore players should be rewarded. The casuals are just the stuffing. You’re not entitled to get to max gear score, mate

removing the power cap on all activitys needs to happen . locking players out for massive power grind is never going to work. you don't have enough content that's fun to run a million times over for little power increase. it might look good on paper . but the reality is far from what really happens . needs a power delta adjustment and grind reductions . also why are not dungeons included in the portal grind band wagon. who is running this mess over there anyway.
-
They definitely have to rethink and restructure their systems fast. This experience is far from being enjoyable.

I’m just a simple pvp player that wants to stomp on noobs is that too much to ask for?

9 RepliesEdited by Stari: 7/27/2025 1:42:58 PMI am a 0,1% player, but no way I will be grinding everything all over again. P.S. I don't say i'm 0,1% best, but 0,1% most kills, supers, assists, played time........which is relevant in this topic.

I don't think there is any super grinders because the reward for the grind is... uhhh nothing.

1 ReplyEdited by Ferus Lux: 7/26/2025 8:00:09 AMIt's possible that they're just trying appeal to dedicated players like Path of Exile devs and have accepted they will never bring in Lightfall and TFS numbers ever again 🤷

I've never minded the power grind, but it seems pointless when they reset it every 6 months and always cap us below end game content level anyway. I'm just casually playing and I'll be happy to get to 200 in 6 months, cos that's where we'll all be anyway 💁♂️

3 RepliesAnd Approximately 300+ of those Super Grinders who cheated in the Day One Challenge are possibly gona be banned.
-
4 RepliesOf course it has a problem with player engagement. Bungie does not care! If they did they never would have come up with this tragic mess (dumpster fire).
Bungo…
What an awesome way to get your feedback heard lol

Heavy grinders or not it feels pointless, do a really slow power grind to be allowed to get not trash armor so you can make a decent build just to have to do it again in 6 months for seemingly no reason. Like we're missing part of the loop here there needs to be a payoff For the reset otherwise it will always feel arbitrary. Don't get me wrong I can see the system is obviously designed to "engage" players as long as possible with the reset giving bingie a infinite reason to loop it, buuuuut when its more obvious that the system is an engagement mill than it is itself engaging, you messed up just a bit.
-
Not just the grind, but the power delta moving with you, keeping you negative comparatively. By doing this, no matter what your level, it will feel exactly the same fighting the enemies, which have become massive bullet sponges. We're supposed to be powerful guardians, yet no matter how much "power" you have, you'll always be far weaker than the enemies, making any progress a massive chore, rather than fun. I play to have fun, not work and Bungie has made this game feel more like work than my actual job.

Exactly get rid of the freakin power climb it serves NO GOOD PURPOSE!! We should have just started the expansion grinding out great new weapons up to tier 5 on the first day inside the campaign. Or they should have just had a power cap of +50 max above starting expansion power level. Bungie is a pathetic excuse for a game dev company. They put out Halo in 2001 which was great and now they hate players so much they don't care and don't put out any quality content anymore.
-
Yeah bungee would never understand that because they think power grind is content 😆 🤣 The community has been telling bungee that power grind is not content ever since 2018 lol
-
Just play for 6 months and get your 400's shortly before they reset you again /s
-
Nobody wants to grind more, what we want is to have fun.
-
Im quitting at 300 Got my season pass and did the raid. 300+ missions suck
-
They need to rethink the grind… balance around people that can play 2 hrs a night and it will do wonders
-
Frankly I don't mind a power grind as long as there's a reason for it .. You know example if they added new pieces of content that requires you to be 350 or 400 that's understandable but what not is understandable beyond logic is why would you grind 200 levels for it to be reset for no reason other than to show off that you increased your power there's no purpose to hit 400 at this point.. Even contest mode requires you to be 200 right now you could enter the raid as level 100.... Even people had early access even said that they thought it was dumb that they want you to grind 200 extra levels just for it to be reset they think the level is too high. I personally believe that season power should be optional you know like the pinnacle before the expansion.

You’re 227 so I don’t know about that. I guess it’s perspective?
