I've thought about this for a while now.
What is the point of the first ten shots in the clip? I always fire out the first ten shots and never reload. Does anyone even use the first ten shots, like ever?
Why not just have the weapon at 1 round 24/7 and make it so the weapon can't be reloaded at all? It would just have a bottomless clip and it would take health from the wielder with every shot fired. For the health loss, just make it so every time you kill an enemy you get healed for 40% of your Hp or something like that.
I use Touch of Malice in pvp and people always wonder why I fire out the clip every time I respawn, umm because the first ten bullets are useless.
Also, give this weapon Kinetic Tremors instead of rapid hit on its catalyst. I've seen people saying give it Precision Instrument but that would be op in pvp.

2 RepliesWe don't need kinetic tremors as the catalyst for every kinetic exotic. I'd rather something like: All hits now generate charged with blight, Kills and precision hits generate additional charges. Taken blight projectile pierces enemies. (Not Anti barrier since it already stuns unstoppables)

1 ReplyEdited by AppleSoda: 6/3/2025 4:13:02 AMI think being given the option to not damage yourself simply makes the gun more flexible. You can easily dispose the first 10 shots on spawn if you want and keep it like that until you die: that is the most obvious way to use the weapon. But you lose nothing by having that option available to you. In PvE? Likely if you’re using the weapon, you’re using a healing spam build that lets you bypass that weakness. Even if you weren’t I think in PvE there’s very little reason to ever consider not using the self-damaging shot, but still the option being there doesn’t hurt anyone. I have used Touch of Malice quite extensively in both D1 and D2 in PvP for fun, having gone to the lighthouse with it once in D1, and depending on maps, opponent loadouts, game state, etc. there were some moments where I’d prefer the safe and fair 1v1 without damaging myself (for example, the self damaging shot is great when team shotting, less so when 1v1ing another scout and the self damage makes you trade or lose because you started shooting second). Perhaps in your experience, you prefer to always just full send the bonus damage shots, which is fair, but in mine, I did find myself using the weapon more creatively: sometimes full mag, sometimes priming all the way to the bottom, sometimes priming it so that during a fight my first shot wouldn’t damage me but later ones would so I’d know I got the first shot in before committing.

3 RepliesI thought the first ten shots were to charge up, “charged with blight” then fire secondary shot to weaken enemy and dps with infinite shot.

I think you should generate blight stacks on precision hits or regular kills, and also it needs more ways to spread its poison effect. Maybe precision kills create a poison burst, at at 10 stacks of blight, rapid precision hits also poison.

The competition is fierce for the primary slot. For example why use malice. When I can just use outbreak which doesn’t hurt me and can benefit from other players running it too. Then u have hunters with malfeasance with lucky pants (I know not as prevalent after the nerf but still). Plus malice suffers from it being a scout rifle as Bungie doesn’t want to give weapons with extreme range huge dmg buffs. They would have to buff it big time.

2 RepliesMy problem with it is that i don't have it!! :(

Ya it sucks, waste of a raid exotic

1 ReplyAgreed but touch is one one the most broken gun in the game never reload and increased damage for forever until death but touch would be a hard to play around with kinetic tremors is a good idea or maybe like Leech affect like thorn poison damage over time cause its is a sorrow weapon Like bad ju Ju would that to be able to get unraveling rounds instead of string of curses

1 ReplyEvery kill when it’s on final round should heal… that’s good power right there

2 RepliesRapid Hit is fine for the catalyst, the added stability keeps it on target. Not to mention it helps with the comical screenshake.
