I've run over 100 heroic patrols in the past two days and have yet to get a single iterative loop red boarder.
Im happy to spend hours grinding the same GMs or trials map ... but patrols? As someone who is in the D2 endgame why am I restricted to this monotonous, unfulfilling, and unyielding grind that leaves me feeling so frustrated and defeated.
I would be happy to grind something as hard as GMs or trade in exotics/ascendant shards if it would guarantee a red boarder, even once a week. Why is there nothing like this?
I understand you want keep player retention high, but I can assure you that making red boarders more straightforward and accessible would not stop me from exploring the awesome worlds you have created and playing in the raids, dungeons, vanguard ops, and crucible that I love so much.
Just the thought of doing 4 patrols and then a heroic patrol to get a 50 stat helmet makes me want to throw up, and I am giving up entirely on crafting the iterative loop that I want so much.
As a player who has spent so much time and money on this game, is this how you want me feel? Do you really think your player base deserves this?

It's a business to make money, not a business to make you happy. Especially with how a lot of the content in this game is literally poorly designed when it comes to keeping players "engaged in their content". The only thing they care about if anything is that you literally ran this for 2 days. It's designed the way it is because they know there are a lot of people like you that will run mindless dumb things like this. It's actually kind of disturbing that people do this to themselves with a lot of the content in this game knowing how screwed up the "RNG" is hoping for different results. This thing about all this, even though it's one of the many mindless dumb things this business has done, no one forced you to run it for 2 days, that was on you. Just a suggestion, stop trying so hard, this game in no way will ever be worth wasting that much time.

3 RepliesI was doing same and happened to get a Robin from heroic public event. After months of on and off grinding I finished loop and Robin doing mostly heroic public events. The last Robin didn’t drop until after almost 20 regular ones. They over killed this drop rate after people getting them quickly with heroic patrols.

1 ReplyYou are absolutely right Mr. Stugenhymer. After grinding for 3 hours and feeling lucky to be able to craft a Neomuna weapon (while also using Deepsight harmonizers) I realized that i had to grind for another 2 hours just to max it out to 20. Bungie definitely needs to find a way to make crafting weapons more user friendly even if it means purchasing them with obscene prices (an ascendant shard for a red border iterative loop). There has to be a light at the end of the tunnel if they want to keep player retention high as well as keeping them/us somewhat happy. The grind has to make us feel accomplished otherwise why would we even bother in the frist place right?

Whoever it was, their intent was to get you to waste as much time as possible playing their game so they can use you as a precious metric.

It’s a substitute for content. Because although creating content is hard, it’s easy to create ridiculous grinds like this.

2 RepliesI think you can be suspended for spamming the forum; just a heads-up.
