i am unable to login to destiny 2 via steam through my network. after a sign in, it disconnects with a centipede error, and this has been going on for several months
i went through the troubleshooting guide for this error (which is woefully undescriptive and unhelpful), and i still get it regardless of the type connection: wi-fi, lan, via router and directly. i've checked my network with my internet provider multiple times, and they have confirmed there are no issues or blocked ports on their side. currently i'm not using a vpn and i've switched to lan with a static ip, and this hasn't been helpful either.
oddly, logging to destiny 2 through playstation through the same network environment goes fine and doesn't give any similar network specific issues.
what else can be done to solve this? i'd really like to be able to finally log in again someday.
UPD: figured out i'd share what measures helped me
first off, disabling microsoft defender firewall occasionally helped
second, making sure that vpn is really off when it's off. im not sure if this is specific to the vpn i use (lantern), but when i disable vpn from the app interface and then look up my network settings, windows still thinks i'm using a proxy. it can be checked in settings > network and internet > proxy > manual proxy setup. if the flag on manual proxy is on when your vpn should be off, try turning it off and checking again
