Cigarette addicts basically throw their money away, and receive nothing positive in return. They're severely addicted to the product they purchase and can't kick the habit, just like Destiny players.
Destiny isn't much different from a pack of cigarettes.

What an absolute dork😂
-
It's easy to quit a crappy video game. Not so easy to quit smoking...
-
5 RepliesI got a difference! People know cigarettes are bad for you but keep going anyway because of the addiction. While the Destiny hamsterboys don't see anything wrong with the game burning.

Destiny isn't much different from a pack of cigarettes.
How is paying for entertainment... Comparable to addiction to a substance... That’s like saying going to the movies or watching/paying for Netflix is like smoking meth, or buying model planes is like abusing opioids. What about seeing live concerts? Is that like shooting up heroine? It’s a -blam!-ing hobby for christ’s sake, how absolutely devoid of brain function are you op? Destiny is a pretty cheap hobby at that, it’s around 80$ for an entire years worth of stuff. You have/do a hobby because you enjoy it. The gain of playing is accomplishment and enjoyment. If you do not enjoy playing it, there is no reason to play it anymore, as in the end it is literally a decent looter shooter in the sea of hundreds of other decent titles.
They're severely addicted to the product they purchase and can't kick the habit, just like Destiny players. Destiny isn't much different from a pack of cigarettes.
What’s next, if I routinely take a morning walk is that an addiction? What about riding around town after work to blow off steam? You’re burning gas, therefore “wasting” money, if you didn’t enjoy the joy ride you wouldn’t -blam!-ing do it. It isn’t negatively impacting your life, all it is at the end of the day is a non-essential purchase for the sole intent if entertainment. Playing the new expansion won’t take 5 years off of your life. Your iq and the temperature block of ice are pretty similar, they’re both below zero. An actual brick wall could probably give a better take than you.

It's a LOT easier to kick. I would know.

3 RepliesEdited by Abbarraxx: 9/19/2020 10:16:41 PMDestiny 2: About $70/year Cigarette Addiction: About $850/year (at 1 pack a day, generic brand). Not even close.

True . I’m slowly quitting . The nasty flavor is making it easier to quit by the day . War zone and Star Wars old republic and dead by daylight are my new addiction now
-
1 ReplyEdited by AdligerAdler: 9/19/2020 10:02:37 PMI smoke cigarettes and game a lot. If anyone becomes addicted to a videogame like they do to cigarettes and can't quit although they're not having fun anymore, I don't know what to say. Seems something is wrong with them.
-
4 RepliesAs a smoker of said cigarettes, I can safely say: "They are miles apart." Good night.

Destinys become a big part of my social life, and on top of that I'm in Destiny subreddit and the b.net forums. Idk how the smoking community treats each other but I've not gotten any sort of cancer or unhealthy organs from playing D2. Just some sleepless nights at worst.

2 RepliesI’m a day 1 destiny player I’ve taken months off this game, I’ve even taken over year off Guess what I found out, there’s not another game like destiny, and taking time off a game is healthy. But to some ppl this game is crack, I see your point, they hate this game but still play it and stalk the forums Those ppl NEED help BADLY.
-
Are you describing yourself?
-
2 RepliesWell for one, gaming is a lot easier to get your hands on. Two, people actually enjoy Destiny 2. Three, Destiny 2 causes no harm. If you like the game you buy the stuff. Just like any other game. This comparison is very.....toxically pointless.

Video Game addiction is a real addiction Some people can’t stop playing ,and when they can’t play all they do is think about playing
-
Cigarettes cost way way way more than destiny and kill you much better and make you stink
-
1 ReplyCigarettes can give you cancer and/or kill you. Destiny can’t. Proven wrong, done. That was easy....
-
2 RepliesEdited by damnter: 9/18/2020 7:23:09 AMVery true. Quit smoking 3 years ago. Hardly been playing Destiny lately except for the double nightfall loot this week. Not buying the weak dlc eather. People keep defending their addiction even though bungie is just hustling the adicted fans at the moment.

I was all for Beyond light and stasis until I saw the reveal BL will bring the long awaited Masterwork fix... Yet to be replaced by yet another even worse insidious convoluted grind system of levelling stasis, but even worse, there will never ever be an end to the grind of it With CyberPunk coming New games on new xbox and ps5 Sitting here playing the same old c rap with a s hit paintjob just isn't an option Like many we have played from day 1, played every single dlc, had many years of destiny Its been a good run w 1000s of hours of fun But the burnouts just become quicker and the having breaks dont fix it anymore Road maps are just carrots on a string...
-
Video game addiction is just as serious as any other addiction. If anything rules your life, destroys your relationships, finances, and health, etc etc...then it's an addiction.
-
This is actually a very raw nerve for me. The number of people who label gamers as addicts is outrageous. It is actually a very uncommon phenomenon in the west, far more problematic in the East. I really hate when people just throw actual medical and scientific terms around just so they can label someone because they believe them to be inferior.
-
Also you sound like the older lady from grandma boys “Thanks Alex, maybe tmw you can introduce them to heroin” Entertainment is a waste of time at the end of the day...
-
Wrong...it's more like: an abusive relationship, you keep staying and stating that they will get better, others don't see the potential and the good side. But in the end they will just keep treating you like shit and you just stick around cause its what you're use to from them. Destiny will never be great in the hands of bungo.
-
Well why do you play video games? To have fun, cigarettes dont give you fun, they don’t allow you to use a machine gun that fires explosives rounds or fight giant bosses with different mechanics you have do to damage them
Cigarette addicts basically throw their money away, and receive nothing positive in return.
Cigarette addicts basically throw their money away, and receive nothing positive in return.
I get entertainment for a few hours.
They're severely addicted to the product they purchase and can't kick the habit, just like Destiny players.
Or.... they enjoy said product. Just because you don't personally find it fun doesn't mean that people who find it fun are addicted.
