So they introduced that quest that "you were meant to take all season to complete" on 3 characters... because it has an extra mod slot.
Then they announce armor 2.0 with four mod slots and a return to intellect, discipline, strength.
Then they announce an extra IB and loosening of requirements on the quest.
So everyone realizes that tedious quest is for armor that doesn't matter?
At least Solstice Armor will be converted. What about IB armor? Does that get converted or is next season a brand new quest?

Welcome to Destiny......

8 RepliesEdited by murkypondwater: 8/6/2019 12:32:18 PMHonestly, they should convert every piece of armor gear (except Exotics) in Collections into universal armor ornaments that can be withdrawn infinitely and applied infinitely. Boom, instant transmog system.

9 RepliesY’all are acting like the perks on existing armor sets are just gonna vanish when 2.0 drops. Sure the new shits gonna have new perks and stats but the old shit is still gonna be viable. Relax and see what happens.
-
3 RepliesIt's not going to be useless just less customizable then 2.0 armor I for example have a full set of enhanced sniper banner armor it's still going to be great for sniping just only for sniping while 2.0 armor can be more easily modified to be used for other things
-
I just want to do my 7 weekly quests.

23 RepliesThis is the dumbest thing I’ve read on here in awhile. Everything we get will always become useless at a point. Do you think all the armor and weapons should be relevant up until you age 100 years? Don’t play games if you are crying about thing becoming useless over time.
-
It is a lot of work for a few legendary shards.
-
Its not though. Still gives the same buffs and perks.
-
I'm hoping the armour will be available as ornaments.
-
1 ReplyIron Banner alltogether has been worthless in D2. In D1 at least it was worth doing.
-
I'd love there to be a full on Zero for year 3 Everyone starts with nowt but their inventory and vault. No mats, no nowt.
-
I yet would need to get a roll that would actually make it worthy to begin with ;)
-
Yeah, so?
-
3 RepliesWhat does intellect, discipline and strength do anyway?
-
Yep but that’s why there will be new armour to chase in shadow 👍

How can you complain about the shadowkeep update when we started year 1 of this game and all the armor available at the time was nearly cosmetic only. Nothing is going to physically happen to the armor we have now. We can still use the same loadouts we have and still be as effective. When armor 2.0 drops, it'll just be another grind for us to start and maybe an easier one depending on how the new system works. As for the present purpose of iron banner, I'll ask you something. I remember that the first iron banner of this season, bungie clearly stated that now was the time to grind for enhanced perks. With the new armor coming in a few months, why would bungie encourage us to grind for perks on armor that's supposedly going to outdated soon? Could be just hype for the updated IB armor. But I think it's something more. My theory is that when shadowkeep drops, we will be able to dismantle the armor we have now and the perks on those armor pieces will be deposited into the new weighted armor system that they talked about in their shadowkeep reveal video. That way we get a head start on experimenting with the new armor system using the majestic set of the solstice gear. (Majestic Solstice armor can be traded Into banshee after the update for armor 2.0 versions of the sets) Even if I am wrong, the only way our current armor becomes truly useless is if the player decides it is, im happy with what Ive got and I'm keeping it no matter what.
-
Everything will be worthless. Solstice gear will technically be worthless as well since I doubt it’ll give people a jump on others who don’t have it. It’s a new year and a new start without activision, not blaming them but I’m willing for everything to be a thing of the past and then start anew.

Honestly the fact that almost every armor set we’ve earned or struggled for with the exception being this crappy Solstice BS being made obsolete in October frustrates me to no end. I do not look forward to grinding all over again for armor with ammo perks and rolls for the weapons I use. Nor do I look forward to yet again having to turn in what I consider cool looking gear for the Shadow keep gear that as far as has been shown to us so far looks like crap. The Hunter armor looks like what a mummy in a 1930’s film would look like if on a budget of 50$ and that’s being generous. I really think their idea of making all our armor sets obsolete and useless a pathetic way to drag out game play. Probably only gona be a 10 mission story anyways. I’m not impressed. Only gona play it to see what Bungie thinks is fun and exciting. Though if it starts looking like Solstice well I’ve got better games to waste my time after work on.

5 RepliesTo be fair, all armor you currently have, even the Solstice armor will be useless when Shadowkeep comes out. Especially if they have new/better perks that the Solstice armor cannot get even after you "upgrade it" to year 3.
-
All I wanted was the Iron Gold Shader. (Which I needed the full armour set to get, so joke's on me I guess)
-
BUT Imo, IB has some of the coolest armor in the game.
-
Don't care...Its about the ornaments.
-
Not for PvP though right? or?
-
Waaaaaaayy ahead of you. Just did it once for the shaders. Yes, I am a shader -blam!-, sue me!

2 Repliesif you chase gear for anything but the cosmetic aspect, you are gonna get burnt out fairly quickly as the hamsteer wheel never stops turning bungie doesn't make new content very often, but they churn out new grinds for existing content on a regular basis with very small rewards like new cosmetics for armor that you can even keep using without more grinding to infuse each piece with 4 different currencies per piece you gotta understand the name of the game is 'keep them playing for more micros'
-
9 RepliesEven solstice armor is worthless as you'll get new legendary armor drops from Shadowkeep that has all the new slots and will be at a higher power level. BOOM!
