Good call.
Edit: Btw Destiny is not the only bun in the oven. Congratulations Cozmo!
Edit2: 1000 comment's lol

42 RepliesI think they delayed because not enough people are preordering. So they will add a few things and show some more reveals to get the preorders in. I think players have learned not to preorder anymore.

1 Replythe irony, destiny is a beta

I honestly rather test bugs, than wait 6+ months for the bugs to be fixed. Bf4 had updates almost weekly based off player feed back for its first few months on release and they also did it with every new DLC BO4 had an update every week after it launched for atleast 5-6 weeks tuning and fixing based off player feed back Destiny 1 and 2 had/have updates every 6-9 months based off content creator feedback, not player feedback. And when those updates finally drop it fixes maybe 5 bugs out of the 20 that are causing problems and introduces 10 more that are worse than the 5 they "fixed" Id much rather test and give feedback for a bug/glitch to be fixed in a week or two than have to fight through 6+ months waiting for an update thats truely not going to fix anything.

Microtransaction store integration with steam marketplace wasnt ready.

5 RepliesEveryone thinks Bungo is worried about Borderlands 3 stealing their sales but I think it’s more to do with Shadowkeep being a Bungie-only project. Destiny has had the help from other game developers like Vicarious Visions to assist in meeting Activision’s deadlines. Now? It’s just Bungo so it makes sense that they’d delay Shadowkeep so they don’t launch an unfinished game (maybe take note, EA?). Personally, I like the delay since that’s more time to binge Borderlands 3 before returning to my 6th year of Destiny. The season pass has been a bit of a letdown so it’s worth taking a break to recharge my D2 interest.

1 ReplyJust because they delay stuff does not mean that anything good will come out of it. Look at D1 -> D2, 90% of the gear is copy pasted, and not even the good stuff and not even all of it could be transferred. They are as rotten as any other studio, people here are just ignorant to facts and live in denial when someone mentions something that's bad.
-
I’m more than sure that the delay is because they don’t want to compete with borderlands 3
-
The delay isn’t really long enough to have any major changes/content added. Maybe I bit more QA testing, but even still, most content has been pretty buggy up to this point. I doubt the skeleton crew they have working on shadowkeep will be able to do much in a few extra weeks. It’s much more likely they pushed it back, so they didn’t have to contend with other games in a similar vein (BL3, MH etc)

Get played bungie manufacturing perceptions

Edited by ItsChewbacca: 8/4/2019 3:10:27 PMI’m glad Bungie is pushing back Shadowkeep. I’d rather have a delayed launch where they can fix some more issues and fine tune it than a rushed launch that’s a complete mess. I’ve really enjoyed both Forsaken and the Annual Pass so I have faith in Bungie. Besides, I get more time to play Iceborne when that comes out in September lol.

1 ReplyThey don’t have the developers they had with activision. They lost high moon studios for the pc side of the game. I’m sure pc optimizations will be the reason.

1 ReplyEdited by WulfPak666: 8/4/2019 8:27:38 AMBest case scenario, they did this because there actually are bugs and the extra time to polish the game will allow them to iron them out and add some extra bling to ShadowKeep. Worst case: they literally just did this to get away from Borderlands. Not hating. Literally everyone does this whenever RockStar sets a Release date in stone. Nobody wants to get overshadowed by the Big Bois.

2 RepliesEdited by Monkey: 8/2/2019 3:11:11 AMMore like they don't want to release with Borderlands 3 coming out and probably a smart move as well
-
6 RepliesSo it is just a coincidence that Boarderlands 3 (Destiny's biggest competitor) was set to launch around the same time as Shadowkeep and all of a sudden Bungie decided that Shadowkeep wasn't ready.
-
11 RepliesWait... ummm... isn’t there something called playing 2 games? OMGGGGGG bl3 and destiny can be played at the same time!?😱😱😨🤔
-
1 ReplyUmmmmm i dont know if you know this or not, but Destiny 2 is still a beta we are all play testing..... They are moving into a more favorable release window to avoid the steep competition Borderlands 3 (9/13/2019) is going to bring and releasing it before the next call of duty (10/25/2019). This is a tactic most companies take and use the guise of " fixing things".
-
3 RepliesThe only thing delayed here is your education. Delayd? Really?
-
1 ReplyWell to be fair, we have been guinea pigs for bug testing for the last 5 or so years.
-
2 RepliesI’m not going to commend nor condemn Bungie as many of you are doing so in the replies to this post, all of you are making assumptions and predictions without the title even releasing. If it’s shit then hey! By all means riot Bungie all the way to hell and back, but at least give them a chance to prove that Activision really was the problem and not Bungie
-
They should still at least add in PTS (Public Test Servers).
-
1 ReplyI'm totally fine the with the delay. I'm confident the extra time will result in more/better high quality content. Thanks Bungie for keeping us informed - and good luck. We're looking forward to Shadowkeep!
-
14 RepliesPersonally I don't buy into this we need 2 more weeks to improve the game, it's still gonna launch an things will be broken an buggy with the odd glitch. I feel the push back is largely down to the fact bungie needs a win going into shadow keep an launching 3 days after borderlands 3 probably wasn't gonna give them the re launch of this game they wanted.
-
Edited by Quaddity: 8/2/2019 8:42:35 PMAre you kidding? Players have been free testers for Bungie since D1 launched. They don't seem to test anything. 2 weeks is nothing in software development. The code is likely done this delay is for something else.
-
4 RepliesLook at every one of the games you own. Chances are, you are in fact a guinea pig...and willfully chose to be one many times over.
-
15 RepliesI'm good with the delay. I really hope it is to polish things up. Everyone is saying pre-order sales are low and a bunch of other bs, even if it is so what? I can't be the only one anticipating a Bungie only release...
-
I'd say they delay is due to them not wanting there asses kicked by BL3
