Sounds more like a you problem....I exclusively solo queue Gambit and winning isn't very difficult if you play well.

Just got back to the game and am loving Gambit. Hit some bad ransoms from time to time but overall positive experience after 18 matches. Winning at least 50-70% of the matches each time I play. And when I lose, it’s not frustrating like crucible. Heck even spent one game invading because my time was bad and racked up 11 kills and forced over 50 motes to be lost. We ended up winning. 5/7 so far in Gambit, will grind more.

I'm hot and cold on it...grinding to 3 resets a couple seasons back made me a bit exhausted by it, but I've been having fun again with it recently. I'm glad you're having fun, it's a game mode that at it's core is meant to be frantic fun so it sounds like it's successful content.
