What is your favorite class in a video game?

Classes usually define video games, and we all have our favorites, whether we’re a healer or a tank. I’ll list mine: Mesmer (Guild Wars 2): Mesmers have an extremely high skill cap, but are extremely rewarding once you learn it. Most endgame activities like raids and dungeons pretty much require a Mesmer. Unique Abilities: Can create illusions of themselves, phantasms, portals, teleport, buff allies, weaken enemies. Necromancer (Also Guild Wars 2): Necromancers are a ton of fun. In Guild Wars 1 they had some of the most fun builds you could make, like summoning unlimited hordes of undead or running around invincible with one health left. Unique abilities: Summon minions, corrupt buffs, death magic. • I usually go with the tankiest class in the game. But if there’s a class that’s balanced between tanky and agile I’ll usually take it

    • I tend to gravitate toward the heavy bois in gaming. Like high damage and high armor kind of characters with limited mobility. Guess it’s a virtual representation of me lol

    • Love tanks of any kind, really. Have yet to find the perfect tank, though.

...canon! I like glass cannon mages and controller based Mages. Conjuration and illusion is great in Skyrim. But really it depends on the game. I do like Less tanks builds. Awesome mages and sneaky rouges are fun. I like redirecting, distracting, and utterly destroying enemy’s

      • Always seem to go the tank role in games. Heavy armor, heavy weapons. Don't know why, but it's always how I'd end up rolling my character's. (≧艸≦*)

          • ... So, in general I tend to play the more defensive tank character, and be kind of a rallying point for my team, but in Battlefield I play medic pretty regularly, (when I play battlefield)...
not included in the DLC
• I don't play many games that include class types, so I'll list the ones I know of: Necromancer: Raising your own undead horde sounds fun. Healer/Long Range Class: I'm not the most confident person, so I usually stick to a healer or an archer of some sort just so I can get in a few shots, or focus on maintaining my teams health. Anything with speed: I'm more focused on dealing little blows bit by bit, while trying to dodge the bosses attacks and trying to be fast enough in order to reach the enemies weak points. Warlock/Wizard class: With this class I'm able to do so many cool things. I just find it so cool to be able to use magic in so many different ways.

                    • I generally prefer a play style that serves as a “jack of all trades.” I like to have a bit of everything, although if I needed to be specific, either a type of assault/attack class or type of scout/rogue class.

                    • Thief, assassin, ninja, stealth archer type in solo games. And I usually prefer some type of support role in MMO's.

                      • Anything with high movement and evasion. The way I see it, if you dont get hit, you can do as much damage as you want and your health doesn't matter

                      • I always liked the idea of the Mystic Knight in Final Fantasy V. Basically its just a knight that can imbue their weapon with elemental magic. Beyond that they don't do much but it was super useful against enemies weak to certain elements. In Final Fantasy Tactics the Samurai could draw out spirits from their swords (each type of sword had a unique spirit sealed inside). I always thought that was a cool concept. Kind of a warrior exorcist that can use captured spirits bound to weapons. Never really played a mage class until I tried the Warlock in WoW (was always paranoid of running out of mana). Warlock, however, had a lot of utility to negate this such as sacrificing your own health then draining health from your enemies. After playing the warlock, I started gravitating towards magic builds in games. The way you could juggle your life, mana, DoTs and crowd control also made the warlock super survivable. The way I set up my talents meant I wasn't a huge threat but was super annoying and really hard to kill. In PvP I couldn't take positions but I could defend them very well, allowing plenty of time for allies to back me up. After playing the warlock I often go with "survivor" builds that work similarly in multiplayer games. The Black Mage in Final Fantasy XIV. It's a glass cannon but I love the way you have to swap between elements (fire and ice) to balance your damage and mana regen. Fire is the more powerful element but you'll burn through mana. Ice, by contrast, is weaker but drastically increases mana regen. One last but super simple class, the Arcane Knight in Dragon Age: Origins. Normally, mages are light classes that wear cloth. This is justified by the logic that their mental prowess has come at the expense of not putting too much attention interior their physical abilities. The Arcane Knight finds a way around the gear limitation. Basically, the idea is that the mage animates the armor through magic, making it less of a suit of armor and more of a magically powered exo-suit. This gives them access to all the armor and weaponry heavy classes but they can use their magic as a strength check. They also get a few spells to augment their attack and defense.
