To Bungie: Come on, don’t force us to buy loot boxes. If 70+% of all new loot in your looter shooter is in your store let us earn it by dedicated play. That’s only fair. Letting players purchase what they want is a great update. Removing a way to earn it instead is just greedy gross.
To the community:
Incase you missed it in the TWAB, Bungie has this to say today:
“talked about our efforts to give you more control over how you purchase Eververse items. We released the Prismatic Matrix as an experiment to partially address this, but we believe we can do even better.
For Season of the Drifter, we want to try something new. We will be removing the Prismatic Matrix. Instead, every week, there will be unique bundles available that can be directly purchased for Silver, allowing you to directly buy exactly the items you want. All unique bundles will also contain an exclusive vanity item available only through that weekly bundle.”
Yes to “do better” they are charging you money for the eververse items you want and removing the way to earn what you want though dedication to playing the game.
This is what Bungie without Activision looks like. Did you think that Activision was forcing them to push micro transactions? Hell no.
It would be nice if they just sold Luna’s Howl and Not Forgotten in the Eververse store directly. At least that would get all the parasite account recovery services out of Competitive.
TL;DR
Adding direct purchase bundles is fine. Don’t remove the prismatic matrix.
Turns out they had no intention of direct selling seasonal cosmetics. Just bundles of crap.

1 ReplyI just bought the dog emote 😱

2 RepliesBungie if you’re going to pull this crap, at least give us a way to earn silver, not silver dust, but silver. I clarified that so you know I meant silver. We bought the game, then we buy the expansions, or season pass, now you want to charge for vanity packages. It’s bad enough that most of the really good stuff you lock behind eververse, stuff that should be part of the loot pool , but now you wanna charge us for it!!! At what point are you gonna start “LISTENING “ to the community, and not do the OPPOSITE of what we ask!!!!!

5 RepliesRemoving a way that required dedication? You got a prismatic matrix ONCE a week per account by doing any one challenge. That’s not dedication.... You’ll still be able to earn what you want through engrams. I didn’t spend a cent this season and have almost every single thing available from eververse. Plus you’ll still have a weekly selection to pick from to buy with bright dust. Untwist those knickers, you’ll be fine.

6 RepliesWhat of Bungie having to pay 100 mil to be allowed to publish Destiny? They had to buy that right back. Or now the fact they have to pay out of pocket to publish and advertise Destiny? 3rd party help is also not free, like with Vicarious Vision. Bungie is actually quite a large studio, and actually needs a steady flow of income to pay it's employees. The whole stunt to be free of Activision is actually an extremely heavy blow to their profit. They have a lot more hefty expenses now, they need to make up the money somewhere.

4 RepliesAND LOOK WHO IT IS!!!! Tattooed with MORE TOXICITY. Welcome to your daily dose of bungie hate. Hosted by TatooedOni. “Wahhhhhh bungie. Wahhhhhhhhhh. Buff exotic drop rates wahhhhhhhhh. Give us prismatic facet wahhhhhhhhhhhhh. We don’t want a season of gambit wahhhhhhhhhhhh. There’s no content wahhhhhhhh.” You are what is wrong with the community. You embody it all. The game is so bad, yet you NEVER LEAVE.
-
10 RepliesRemember. Kids are whining about one (1) engram a week. You easily get 3 engrams from leveling fast and slightly slower after that Plus and dust you have saved up from dismantling.
-
7 RepliesNo one is forcing "us" to do anything.
-
12 RepliesAhem. It is one random cosmetic per week. Not a big deal. Just do the Eververse bounties to get bright dust to directly buy what you want. More you play the game = ¹more bright engrams = more cosmetics. ²More bright engrams = more bounty notes = more bright dust = more cosmetics

9 RepliesI just looked at the two new Eververse bundles this week...and they’re not even that good honestly. Just an okay ornament for a gun I don’t use and an empire that I probably would never use either.
-
4 RepliesI’m be completely honest I never used the prismatic facet ever I never saw a point the only time I ever did was to get the last word ornament and that’s it
-
1 ReplyI’m probably in the minority, but I have yet to find anything in Eververse worth actually spending money on. (You know buying silver for) And the items I get from the Prismatic Matrix, could take them or leave them.
-
7 RepliesPeople still use those?
-
2 RepliesIt’s funny that when bungie do something bad they somehow make it feel like they are doing us a favour and it’s what we wanted. I don’t remember anybody ever asking for the matrix to be removed.
-
6 RepliesPrismatic isn't even that great? Don't know what the fuss is tbh. I think it's a 'lesser blow' approach that bungie took to help raise some money now that they've split from Activision. I'm happy to give mine up if it helps support them.
-
9 RepliesRepeat after me... Its just 1 less cosmetic item each week, its not a big deal.
-
6 RepliesYou have a gross misunderstanding of the Eververse economy.
-
3 RepliesYou are judging one thing to happen in the upcoming expansion and focusing on it saying that is Bungie run D2. Prismatic matrix are not the only thing in D2. Do I disagree with the community wanting it back? No it should’ve stayed. But you shouldn’t judge one thing. They make mistakes, and this is one of the first few they have made so far on a truly Bungie owned D2

1 ReplyIt‘s interesting to see that all the Bungie fanboys seem to be happy that the Prismatic Facets get removed and try to defend it by all means. People are so stupid nowadays it hurts. Little stupid sheep.
-
3 RepliesI dont care about the facet personally. You get triple xp to get 3 bright engrams for each of your 3 characters so a potential 9 a week(more if you continue playing) and chances are youre gonna break down a few things (because who actually uses legendary ghosts or sparrows anyway?) so you will most likely end up with a good amount of dust to purchase something out of old loves rotating inventory. Besides its only like what 12 facets over the course of a season? Its really not that big of a deal.

3 RepliesI look at it like this - the Prismatic Facet was essentially an extra easily earned Bright Engram each week. Its been replaced by something you actually have to spend money on. I suppose for those who wanted to be able to directly purchase cosmetics (and arent turned off by how overpriced they are) its a good thing. Not so much for everyone else.
-
10 RepliesWhy do you want to gamble in Destiny? Wouldn't you rather be able to pick up the skins you want, rather than hoping the wheel settles on the thing you want? I don't get it.
-
21 RepliesEdited by Pord: 3/2/2019 7:35:10 AMEveryone of these posts is so misinformed by the eververse changes. The ONLY change to eververse are the prismatic facet. THATS IT. You can still get bright engrams. You still get the well rested buff. You still get bright dust for dismantling cosmetics from eververse. The bright dust market and bounties are still there. I also don’t get why optional cosmetics that you can get through game play are such a big deal
-
3 RepliesOnly ever used them twice tbh. I normally get everything within 6-7weeks of playing. They just sit in my inventory. I don't spend on silver at all. Usually get around 30+ bright engram's a week from just playing the game. Got 40k+ bright dust ATM.
-
22 RepliesLet’s be honest, they weren’t used all that much. Use a fireteam medallion and you’ll be fine.
