Last Word SHOULD require crucible
I’m disappointed that only 1 quest involves crucible. It got its fame in CRUCIBLE. Why are PvE players saying that it shouldn’t require crucible? YOU WONT EVEN USE IT!!! It’s not meant for everyone. It’s a CRUCIBLE gun. It should involve little PvE. The amount of PvE crybabies is ridiculous...
Edit: when I say crucible gun, I don’t mean lore wise. I mean that it is designed FOR crucible, and is meant specifically to be used in crucible.

2 RepliesNo, it shouldn’t. It should have alternative paths for those that do not enjoy crucible. Here’s why.... PvE is the same level of difficulty for everyone. The crucible is not the same level of difficulty for everyone. If it were skill based matchmaking by KD, it would be different, but it’s not that way. Personally, I don’t mind crucible and I’m not a great player. I’m decent, at times, and usually good for at least 15 kills. I have nowhere near the skill of many of you though and I’m ok with that. However, there are many who are much worse and despise crucible because there is absolutely no competition for those that do suck. There is also very little improvement or learning that can occur when you are getting -blam!-ed up by good players all of the time. Thus, there is very little reason for many to play the mode. Realistically, even if they did they couldn’t get the weapon within a reasonable amount of time. I understand that it’s a crucible weapon, so why not allow an alternate path? It’s not like they will then come in and have an advantage over you because the weapon will not change them into skilled players, but they could still use it in PvE. Just my opinion, which really doesn’t matter anyway.

2 RepliesTLW is definitely a pvp gun so I agree but maybe the quest shouldn’t punish you for dying that way others could accumulate the score needed at their own pace. I played 3 matches and mine didn’t even progress at first but eventually it started working and it was a breeze. But I’m moreso a pvp player. But I respect the pve’ers complaint over the step. It’s reverse for me when it comes to the whisper

It can be for anything... it’s a gun it shots bullets, and crucible isn’t a competitive thing nor will it ever be here is why... all classes are not the same, rng is different for everyone, some people have a bad connection, some people are just lucky, others are great, some are gods. Also, anyone can get it... I don’t see a problem? If you want a skill based game then use the gun better... there you’re playing competitive. It’s not as accurate as Luna, or Not Forgotten. It’s made to be hip fired, it doesn’t have a damage buff too 2 tap people.... so it’s not a complete god weapon, but hey really though it’s a game people can use a slingshot, I’d find that funny. Just have fun man, if you feel people don’t deserve it... then that’s you but people should just play a game embrace it. Does it break anything, Nope.... no, you’re a PvP god you’ll do fine now go troll the newbs no worries if they have it. I mean pve has its stuff as well and frankly there is better stuff you can use or, maybe enjoy more. It’s not a sole PvP gun nothing really can be if you want to use it. Also it’s for everyone and it should be, players who play should be rewarded if your good and a better player it will show in most cases you’re better, not everything has to be so... complex. Now that you have that weapon go enjoy it you earned it, like everyone who ( pays for a game and plays the game no need to get all angry about what people will have ) I mean it could have been only through a raid... and it isn’t and the crucible needs more targets for you to fill full of holes.... NOW GET OUT THERE AND FIGHT FOR YOUR GLORY GUARDIAN!!!

I agree last word should have steps in crucible, as well as PVE due to in combination of lore surrounding it and our personal usage of the gun in destiny 1. The reason I’m upset about both sections of the game being used in quest steps is that most guns now a days are getting crucible requirements for no other reason than to shine some light into crucible. It’s like why are they forcibly shoving it in our faces? The loss mechanics too in my opinion are more annoying than trash that’s ruining it. I would much rather it be a set goal even if it’s been increased by two to three times the normal value without loss mechanics being part of the equation. Doing that makes every crucible match less stressful and less of a negativity on the whole experience. Also to anyone reading this who hates the PVP aspect of quests be prepared to either suck it up or put it down when thorn comes out. That whole quest in destiny 1 was mostly PVP and there’s no way it won’t have a near similar experience in this game when brought back.

3 RepliesThis quest harkens back-to D1 with the thorn quest and not the last iteration, ism talking about the first iteration where it required void damage kills! During that time all I had was a crappy blue fusion rifle and my super, warlock master race! Kills would advance you and deaths would reset you. That was a quest that was missing fromD2 and I am glad that it back that it is similar!

5 RepliesThe real problem isn’t the requirement to play crucible, it’s taking away progress. For every person who thinks Crucible quest steps are [b]so easy[/b] and the rest of us should quit crying and get gud, there is someone out there getting killed so the gud player can complete his step. It’s math. You can’t get more kills than deaths without someone getting less kills than deaths. I don’t mind working toward something, but taking away progress makes it a waste of my time, because I’m not the best and I play for fun not frustration.

1 ReplyAs I recall the gun was an oddity in D1 and pretty much a steaming turd drop like "no land beyond" pvpers only used it because it was broken, as soon as Bungie fixed/ nerfed it everyone binned it. TLW was total rng world drop, the only real connection to crucible was the Chaperone quest and the gun was so crap everyone cheesed it with SRL? or used supers. Apart from its brief broken state, nobody used it for pve or pvp because it was shit. All quests should have pvp OR pve steps, let players do whichever is fun for them.

3 RepliesPVE players going after the LW, best advise right here Here we go. The best thing a PVE player can do with the LW quest, is not play it. Just keep telling yourself, I don't need that gun. Why is this best you might ask. Well, I have read many of the posts complaining about the LW having crucible requirements. Most of those posts have PVP players saying "Its not that hard, I got it in 3 games". Do you know why they got it in 3 games? Because there has been an influx of those that either hate PVP, are not good at PVP, or never play PVP, going in trying to get the gun. All those people have given the PVP only crowd easy targets with little chance for the loss penalty. Just don't bother going after the gun, and those hard core PVP players will have to face themselves while trying to get the gun. They will have no simple opponents to steam roll, and will take losses like you do. Its as simple as that.

1 ReplyWhile I agree that it is a crucible gun and you should have some step involved for crucible - I just don't think the way they are reintroducing D1 exotics are the best way. When D2 was coming out they said ALL of our gear was going to stay behind - I didn't like it but I was fine with the decision. However we quickly learned in D2 that was a lie and they proceeded to drip feed us old content back. IMO, all the old D1 exotics should be being released IN ADDITION TO new exotics - so it's not just recycled content. Also they should reflect how they were obtained in D1. If it was straight rng drops - it should be the same or if its a quest - a relatively easy/casual quest. Something like whisper was well done as it reflected the chaos we needed to get the black spindle in D1. Yes the last word is a PvP centric weapon - should you need to go in crucible - somewhat agree. Do you need to be penalized for poor performance, no. It was RNG and sold 6 times by Xur. No one "earned" it in D1 - there shouldnt be such a strong emphasis on "earning" it in D2.

I dont have the season pass cus i dont want to give money to a shity dev team. Grow up just becouse you and the narrow minded ppl that love to play shit think its a pvp weapon, does not mean everyone has to deal with bs just to get something you already had in D1 get real is this D2 or D1? i wont buy anithing from this company 1 mistake is good for me to learn.

3 RepliesIts the mechanics of the quest step that have me hating the quest. I don't mind going to the crucible to play, but i don't get high kill streaks. So the mechanics of this quest put me at a disadvantage.
