The title says it all
EDIT: The general consensus seems to say that it really varies and is inconsistent at best. Do you all agree?

2 RepliesEdited by ELRaSun: 12/31/2018 4:43:10 PMWhen I run strikes with just one Heavy Ammo Finder, with thunderlord, I tend to stay around 75 to 125. I have to basically save it for the boss. But rocking two of them, I get to the full 200-something.. and that’s with hitting occasional headshots with it to proc enhanced heavy lifting. What I do think is happening though is there’s only a certain amount of ammo boost you can get overall, and they are split. So, usually I’m rocking 2 special ammo finder 1 heavy finder and I get alot less heavy. Or 2 heavy finder 1 special, and I find it hard to keep my loaded question full. If I rock 1 of each, maybe it will balance out. I’m going to try it today. But based on the way Bungie has done things in the past — for example with the Prime Engram buff or with Ammo Reserves — they like to put a cap limit on things. Like lets say putting an Ammo Reserve on a Fusion will do nothing if you already have a battery perk on it you just won’t go past 8 shots. Or, if you try to farm Prime Engrams, the game will automatically make you get LESS drops for a few days after that (this one is not a guess it was stated by Bungie) So, my guess is.. lets say you can only get upto a certain amount of % of more ammo. So lets say you can only ever get like 50% more ammo. Then rocking two diff finders would split the percentage 25/25% instead of BOTH being 50% each. And so trying to stack 3 or more of one type would become a “law of diminishing returns” so that the more you stack, the less it actually adds on top.. maybe with three each is like 17%, etc dyc etc This is currently supposedly how mods works. Like rocking 5 super mods.... SUPPOSEDLY the last 2 don’t add as much onto your charge time as the first 3. This is all speculation. But for sure, in my experience, stacking 2 ammo finders doesn’t just make it Not work at all.

I cant tell you to be honest. I can tell you 100% the Scavengers do now (they used to be bugged) but the finders? Theres no way to tell for sure. I know they were confirmed as bugged after stacking two heavy drops as they would negatively affect the drop rate.

They don’t work anyway
-
The question should be. Why don’t they work?
-
2 RepliesI honestly dont think the ammo finders work at all.. sometimes I will get alot of one type of ammo while running that particular perk, and then same perk and no ammo the next time. Heavy ammo seems the most inconsistent, so I honestly feel that the perks dont work at all and its still just RNG in the game.

1 ReplyDo they work at all I s better question.
-
No. I cant find the post I made a bit back but a guy linked a result post with someone who did a full breakdown after killing around 6000 yellow bars and found at best you get the same with 2 perks as one and at worst less than if you had one ammo finder. I definitely find this after I changed my armour.
-
I was told they do.
-
I have 1 heavy and can, most of the time , get more then I can use.
-
I definitely don't run anything with primary ammo on it , I think it overrules the other two.
-
It would be nice if Bungie explained how it "should" work. Because as with everything in this game, it probably is just RNG and depending on the person. Running the same perks as my clanmates, they can get everything and I can nothing. Always seems luck of the draw - or who Bungie seems to give luck to!

3 RepliesNo. Heavy ammo and special ammo perks DO NOT stack. Important if you have just ONE primary ammo finder perk on an armour it breaks your ammo drops. Since Primary Ammo already has a significantly increased drop rate, this perk makes it impossible for heavy or special to spawn.
-
Also wondering the same. I run my armor pretty Special Ammo Finder heavy since I love using my shotgun in things like Gambit and Forges, and there’ll be games when I’ll have a bajillion green bricks lying around, and then games where I see hardly any.
-
2 RepliesNo one knows and Bungie hasn't said anything. Testing proves to be wildly inconsistent as the "chance" is never stated by any percent values, but people say that putting on more than one Heavy Ammo Finder is a no-no because they cancel each other out.
-
I my personal opinion and observation I’ve noticed I tend to get more heavy and special ammo drop when just running one of each, that’s just my opinion. An official statement about it would be nice for clarification

I don't think they do. I run one special and one heavy. Find way more out in the open world than I do in the forge or Gambit but I still get a good bit in those too.
