*SPOILERS* He ain't gonna be the damn Vanguard

He's new and inexperienced. Who can he be the man who manages and mentors Hunters when he doesn't even know how to be a Hunter yet. Hell, he's gonna need a damn Vanguard! I admit it would be cool, but it just wouldn't work out.

Good point. But, because of the vanguard dare he technically did do what Cayde wanted 🤔 we’ll find out, I mean cayde wasn’t really qualified either

    • He is going to be the new Vanguard. Unless he never becomes the vanguard and the city/Traveler is totally destroyed, I will not change me mind.

      • Now the question is do remember all our previous skill sets from our previous lives and does effect what class we will be? Uldren cab be a different class for all we know. And yes uldren technically completed the vanguard dare, but he doesn’t know the rules. Therefore Ikora can easily change the rules without uldren knowing. Would she even let uldren in the vanguard

        • To deny it would be the most insensitive thing to do for caydes memory, given the circumstances.

        • Seeing as hunters rarely rely on the vanguard for solutions to problems, I don’t think an inexperienced hunter vanguard would be all to damaging. And we’ve seen him do things a lot of hunters do in his first life. He’s a relatively proficient pilot, decent with a knife and firearm, has extensive experience in scouting and reconnaissance. And even if he lost these abilities, it’s not like the vanguard do all to much. They just kinda send people out on errands and coordinate guardian efforts.

          • A lot of a Guardian's skill comes from instinct brought about through residual familiarity with their former prowess from their first life. Its why the Guardian could pick up a rifle directly after they were reserected and fight their way out of the Cosmodrone, or why Guardians like Cyrell could be jaded almost immediately after their spark was lit. Considering Uldren was a couple thousand years old, I'm sure he possesses enough wisdom still floating around his subconscious to start as Vanguard off the bat.
