I can’t count the number of times I’ve wasted a sleeper shot, missed a second/third whisper shot, or even wasted by Super because the strike boss becomes invincible without warning. All this mechanic does is annoy players and artificially prolong the bossfight. The worst thing about it is that it’s in almost every strike. Something needs to be done.

Just Luke not being able to come up with something new. Just add a shield and ask for more money for the same old crap. Sick of it. Not paying one penny.
-
Oh no, my bosses are more than just a health bar! Woe is me!

1 ReplyWell duh. They took all the bullshit from Exodus Crash, and jammed it into the Fanatic fight. Had to go somewhere right?
-
2 RepliesDont forget how every boss fight is basically in a circular arena.

64 RepliesD1 strikes were fun. D2 strikes are not D1 strikes had farm weeks where arc burn and specialist were on and people ran 4th horseman or solar and grenadier where people would spam solar nades All these led to 5 second boss kills which felt awesome The immune mechanic is a lazy and boring way to try and prolong the strike, there is nothing exciting about standing on 4 plates because the boss is cowering behind a barricade or teleports away

I think I have to disagree. It's not that what you stated isn't annoying, but pvp/gambit matchmaking is worse (imo).

Bungie needs to pad the play time to make the reports to Activision look better. The more time we spend in a strike the more Bonus $$ everyone at Bungie makes. And it keeps the bean counters at Activision happy.
-
Agreed. Time phases damage blows.

Some bosses it works in a way. However certain bosses like the fanatic and Nokris it’s just so stupid. Especially nokris, I have never seen such a dragged out boss fight in my life

AGREED!!!!!!!!

The bosses that have immunity phases, but can die before you reach them arent that bad. Just the ones that no matter what happens, as soon as their health reaches a point. They stop taking dmg annoy me. Like the new scorn one. Still one of my favorite strike moments is when the DLC dropped, we tractor cannons, void shielded and novas through shield the giant vex harpy who gets the shield around him until you stand on 2 plates... As soon as he walked, it was as if he tripped and fell. Beautiful.

1 ReplyEdited by Y2 Remedy K7: 10/6/2018 10:58:31 PMGive them 10x more health but take away the immunity, pleasssssse 👍

2 RepliesNot really, if you're quick enough you can damage them before the go immune.

1 ReplyEdited by Nerf: 10/6/2018 10:03:50 PMWho cares? The only reason to do strikes is for daily/weekly milestones. They should bring back strike streaks. Add masterwork cores and mod components as rewards. Every strike completed without returning to orbit adds to your streak. Every streak (1x,2x,3x,..5x) will give you that many mod components. Completing your 5th will give you 2-4 masterwork cores and resets your streak. Or ... You know ... ANY reason to do strikes outside of milestones would be neat. Edit: the most annoying thing about strikes is trying to match your subclass element with randoms. I'm sick of doing more completely unrewarding strikes because someone changed from arc to solar at the last minute.

4 RepliesI actually enjoy the "phases" of bosses. May be on the unpopular side of this but I feel like people who just speed run every strike and insta-kill bosses kind of hurt the experience of running strikes. I would love for heroic strikes to be what nightfalls strikes are.

9 RepliesI swear there are people here that would be happiest if they just logged on to the new content and were immediately dropped the best gear set at max level. If I’m doing strikes, I want to play the strike - not drive past as much as possible on my sparrow. Why is everyone in such a hurry anyway? Where have you got to be that means taking 2 extra mins on a boss is a major annoyance? As bungie seems to want to force matchmaking on strikes, which is so feckin dumb, I now like to hold up these annoying speed runners as much as possible. You can sense how annoyed they get, it makes it quite fun!

This mechanic is an artificial time extension to hide poorly planned boss fights, and it’s annoying and time consuming for no reason.
-
Edited by Optic: 10/7/2018 6:46:14 PMexactly. I mean if they take reduced damage due to them getting shields that would be as bad but straight up immunity is pretty annoying.
-
Agreed. I miss being able to melt bosses fast without immunity
-
I think the stomp mechanic is worse. But yes , annoying if you solo. Not too bad if you have a fireteam member.
-
Immune phases are logical giving it is so easy to burn down bosses. I would prefer if they were triggered like they are in the raid with visable health bar sections though. Also adding boss health bar to the screen at all times like in the raid would also be appreciated. The strike are easily sped thru to the boss and by now most people know where all the powerful enemies spawn to get all the top loot drops to happen. Btw an crit hit while immune still counts for whisper as it is still a crit hit.

There's bosses in this game that get melted too quick as it is. I'm fine with immune phases. I want a boss FIGHT, not a squash.

2 RepliesI've found that this issue is usually related to inexperienced guardians or rando-commandos. For example; this problem happens most often for me when running the Pyramidian strike. Although the boss can be defeated immediately with adequate DPS, I encounter this issue when a rando attempts to defeat the boss too quickly and blows off his head prior to allowing the first immunity phase to cycle. This means that just as the immunity phase was about to begin, he began his final attack sequence wherein the shield that previously made him immune is still up and has to be removed by standing on the two plates before he can be damaged. I say this is an issue with inexperience because you should know if you are able to insta-kill a boss while solo or not. If you attempt to do so in a fire-team with randoms and fail, you are likely to cause these kinds of glitches. **Also, before any asks why I am not at the boss to assist, it's because I leave none standing. Regardless of speed-run or casual-play, I leave none standing which often puts me 10-15 seconds behind randos who arrive at the boss after running away from every ad.

Edited by KamoKing: 10/7/2018 1:36:18 PMThis all stemmed from the complaints in D1 about strikes not having any mechanics to them. You’d get to the boss battle and it’d just be the same thing every time. Would you rather have less interesting/unique battles that can be done quicker or the opposite? (It’s not like the extra mechanics really add that much time either)
