3 RepliesEdited by Spendgame: 9/27/2017 9:22:17 PMNot a huge fan of some of the conclusions he draws. 40% have a completed a nightfall 2% have completed a prestige nightfall I would say that has more to do with the game becoming incredibly boring and pointless once you reach the stage where you can beat a regular NF. Sure you can play more and level a bit and then do prestige. But...why? This game hits the "this is pointless and boring" wall at hours 25-35. Besides it makes literally no sense to make a game that actively encourages people to stop playing. Once someone has stopped playing, they're probably not ever coming back. People buy tons of COD DLC because they never stop playing. They play from launch right up to the DLC release date on a consistent basis. If your game can only hold people's attention for 1 month and the first DLC comes out after 3 months, your game is in a lot of trouble. Destiny PvP isn't robust enough to carry the playerbase. It needs extensive PvE content. Which D2 does not have. I've played for 30 hours and I feel like i've seen everything there is to see. Bungie is banking on me putting their game down in early october and coming back in mid december? That's a stretch. Why would I buy DLC for a game I haven't played in two months? At that point i've probably uninstalled the game. Why would I buy $20 DLC for a game whose $80 main attraction could only hold my attention for 30 hours? What's the DLC going to offer? 5 hours?

1 ReplyYeah there's an issue when even the most biased ot people - those who indirectly make a living off of this game -"insiniuate" that the game has problems. I kind of wish that he had been more blunt about it though - instead of tippy toeing and pinning it on what he claims is Bungie's direction with the game ( I don't think he actually believes that Bungie has a direction though, it's just a way of not saying what he really thinks)

Datto is not wrong. Bungie is chasing away the casuals and Bungie NEEDS them to keep the game alive. Sorry but I don't mean to offend the hardcore players but they're shit when it comes to the core of Destiny. Gonna be real, most of my time spent in D1 was bounties, patrols, public events, and farming planetary materials (EVERY destiny player farmed some kind of material). Barely did nightfalls or raids and wasn't skilled enough for trials. D2, I barely have anything to do. Sure there's the weekly milestone but after that then what? Lost sectors are not rewarding enough to grind and same can be said for strikes. Only thing left is Public events. There's patrols but they're meh.

But honestly can you completely disagree with some of their philosophy? -Destiny 1 was toxic AS HELL. With the LFG crap and people being booted from raids etc. And many people noticed that D1 began hemorraging players probably due in part to this. -D1 also had a VAST amount of players who had never seen a great deal of the game (raids etc.). Leading also to losing players or disinterest. -Some aspects of D1 were simply a waste of time. Such as leveling weapons. (I did however like to reroll like a madman, but I can see how it became problematic) I guess it is really going to be about how things really pan out. And also what they have in store (who knows maybe they have timed additions to artificially extend the games life already). But so far as a casual player, I am already enjoying this game far more than D1 this early in its life.

13 RepliesI'm at 295 light and haven't completed either the raid or trials (I don't have a reliable team) I don't see what you're talking about. From 270 to 280 you really are looking for legendary mods to buff your light after 280 you're back on easy street until about 300 light.

3 RepliesThe game will go stale when you put 10 hours a day into the game itself, it’s the same with any other game (cod, battlefield, etc) they all get boring and stale when played for too long
