Warning: in D1 you could infuse armor from any class into armor of any other class (so warlock armor into hunter armor) as long as it was the same type. In the new Destiny 2 infusion system, this is no longer the case. A warlock helmet can only be infused into another warlock helmet.
This gives a HUGE advantage to people who play 3 of the same character class. As soon as one character hits 300 power, all other characters will also be 300 power.
People who choose to play one of each will benefit from the light of weapons of other classes but will need to grind out the power levels of your new class armor type individually for each piece. In my opinion, this will highly encourage playing 3 of the same class and discourage diversity of class play which was one of the most fun parts about destiny 1.
Bungie should allow us to infuse armor between classes so that people who play 3 different classes can play on even footing with people playing 3 clones of the same class. Let me know what you think.

Its insane that this is still a problem. If they're worried about making it too easy, just lock it behind getting at least 1 character to the Max Light level available at the current time.
-
This is just trash 100% I’m not a big grinder at all but I do play hard on about one character and do my best to get them to max light and not to have the option to infuse other gear into my other two is just insane. Especially after I already beat the game and did everything on the characters as in get them to level 50 and 500 light. What is the point in keep grinding and grinding for 3 characters
-
There are people with all three character slots as the same class? Aside from a minimal benefit to grinding I think that sounds like a distinct disadvantage in just about every way, you're reaching a bit here. We probably should be able to infuse armor across classes, but to reduce grinding not because it gives an advantage to someone who's shooting themself in the foot anyways.

1 ReplyI feel this will kill any fun in trying other classes since you cant level other ones with your main, now more people will focus on 1 class since their is no point in trying other class killing any chance for anew experience.
-
I absolutely agree that it is ridiculous it would be common sense to allow the other characters armours to be able to be infused with eachother it makes character progression that tiny bit easier
-
I don't mind grinding like crazy to get my character up to highest level. But i have 3 characters and don't want to spend every minute im online grinding my 2 other characters aswell instead of having fun playing. Thats where Desriny 2 stops for me then.
-
There is a system in place where people playing on multiples of the same class get lower-level drops from things like Powerful Engrams. They no longer have the gear grinding advantage, or at least not as much.
-
14 RepliesNo, you should not be able to infuse armor to DIFFERENT class. The way things were before made it too easy which IMO hurt the game. I don't want to be able to get to max level that easy. I rather earn it by playing with my buddies and having a reason to play. Stop trying to make everything too easy people.
-
For me this change falls into the "annoying after D1's system, but reasonable and justifiable" category. Not a problem.
-
Good point

I like it because it forces you to play that character to level it up. Keep grinding people. I Honestly can't see many people having 3 characters of same class, you miss out on 2/3 of game and experience just so you can potentially have an OP character perhaps. Small reward for a lot of missed game play I think.

6 RepliesHow else did you think they would extend play time?
-
1 ReplyBecause then people would bitch that they got to 300 so quick and they did t even do the shit on there other 2 people they just fed them unwanted gear. You can how send the tokens over atleast
-
1 ReplyBack in my day, when you played a game that involved different classes, you had to always work from the ground up when you created a new class. That's how it should be
-
1 ReplyMan. Now I don't want to start a second character.
-
I hate this while new infusion system, it sucks and need to go back to how it was in D1 real quick!!!! 😡
-
2 RepliesYea, it's Bungie's way of padding the game, want to speed up the grind? just start 2 new characters and invest even MORE TIME in this garbage game Sorry, I don't invest MORE TIME in a game that has a TRASH infusion system, what I do is say "-blam!- you, your game is unfun trash and I'm playing other games, goodbye"
-
Edited by The Dude: 9/11/2017 4:16:41 PMI don't really care. It's pretty easy to get to 260. (You can always make x3 hunters...if you like being bored.)
-
2 RepliesSeriously? I just started stashing some Warlock gear for my Hunter and Titan, this is very disappointing...at least weapons we can use
-
If you only get gear for the character you're using when you decrypt an engram then I don't see the problem. If I'm a Titan and I get gear for the Hunter then I can understand it. Who cares how other people play it?
