This thread is to see what kind of setups are most effective. I looked online and the general consensus was this:
Grineer: puncture, radiation, viral
Corpus: Impact, magnetic, toxin
Infested: slash, blast, corrosive
Void: blast, cold
Now since we only have three mod presets we can make I usually just run my infested setup for the void.
Now here's the real question: is this right? Am I maximizing my dps with this setup? What needs to be tweaked/outright changed?
I've played for a long time across three different platforms (off and on mind you) but I never got the science of it down as well as others. I would appreciate all constructive input that can make me a better Tenno. Thanks.
Edit one: Question about how corrosive works. When it procs does it just work passively where as the damage you inflict will be more at the time of the corrosive proc? I usually can't tell what sort of damage I'm dealing upon contact. There is so many variables in one encounter it's hard to prepare a good mod setup for it. I'm assuming I need to make a "gear" preset with particular mods instead of mods alone when going on mission.
Edit 2: I typically main a 5 forma Frost with energy siphon. I have a Vauban Prime I'm using now just for fun but he is quite handy. I do have the Corrosive Projection it's just not currently on. I typically play with one other that I know and he also has the Corrosive Projection. My main weapons are Othos Prime, Tenora rifle and the Gammacore. All have been Formaed many times. I hope this helps put things in perspective for the kind of game I'm running.
Edit 3: about that corrosive projection. Is the value on that aura the chance to proc or the amount? Can I put that on to buff my status chance? What's the best way to use it? My buddy has one also so I figure I could stack it with his and use that coaction drift (I think that's the title ) to buff the aura effect as well.

You're missing something, OP: Tonkor: Tonkor, Tonkor, Tonkor

Tigris p. Nuff said.

If you have a crit-wep, build crit (25%+) Status Chance build Status (25%+) For builds involving Status: Gas Damage for those Infested Punks Corrosive for Void and Grineer, melt their armor away Viral or Magnetic for Corpus, idrc which I use most the time. If you don't know how to build them, the wiki says the combos for those procs.

3 RepliesEdited by Stoneenergey: 5/14/2017 4:40:34 AMFor the most part, you have the correct idea about what faction is weak to what. I was told not to long ago that a good all-round damage is blast+corrosive or corrosive+cold since the effects are favorable for most things when they proc and the aura mod corrosive projection is a safe bet to use for most frame set ups, especially ones that have few offensive powers or must rely on their weapons a lit (ie. Trinity, Nova, Limbo, Loki to an extent). I've never known someone to make different builds for each faction, but if you do that, more power to you. Here are the two things I take with me not matter the faction. I'm going to sound like a salesperson for a minute or two here: If you're willing to put 3 weapons (yes, 3 built weapons) and the effort/ resources it takes to build or buy them then the Lesion, aka the mutalist Tipedo, is a pretty good melee weapon. I never find the need to switch it out and it's actually quite useful for a lot.of different situations including sortie level stuff and long (2000 cryotic, over 20 rounds/minutes) runs. Several things make it great. It has a nice base attack speed with decent base damage. It does slash which is also nice. It does something a bit different than a lot of other weapons. Everytime it gets a crit for any reason, it gets a temporary boost in attack speed and it then does toxic damage. This opens up the possibilities for crit builds status builds which can work to a lot of success. But the problem is it only had a base crit chance of 10%. Despite that, it's a really nice all-round melee weapon. My favorite weapon is the Sonicore and it's an arm mounted pistol. Be aware of it's hefty cost to build, it takes a decent amount of oxium. But I find the price is worth the shear utility. It does innate impact damage, has an area of effect/blast radius and best of all it knocks enemies over on their asses so they must take some time to get back up in order to begin attacking you again. What this weapon lacks in base damage it makes up for in this unique ability to knock things over and send enemies flying. You can make an entire building for this (like I do) and mod your Sonicore so that it has max impact and blast damage and adding a little fire rate doesn't hurt either. This way you can send enemies flying across the map and even eject enemies off the map entirely. Unfortunately, when you get to higher levels the damage fall of is quite noticeable. But the the cc mentioned before doesn't change, so you can still defend yourself and send enemies into orbit if you so need to. It's a great weapon for squishier frames

Edited by Rylor Threev: 5/14/2017 3:57:04 AMI just use viral against everything, I never remember to switch builds in the arsenal to be the most effective against each enemy faction
enless the enemies are lv100 then I just use tigris prime
1 ReplyCorrosive is good against armor I don't think it is usefull enough to mod it for killing infested. Radiation works well against robotic enemies, so a Corpus map with lots of those might favor radiation instead of magnetic. But unless you do really high content damage/crit trumphs all. Also a statusbuild with viral will work wonders.

Vaykor Hek, AkLex and Lesion is my usual weapons of choice, Vaykor Hek with critical and status build, AkLex the same and Lesion with cold and gas.
-
If you're thinking about procs and not resistances, get rid of radiation and replace with corrosive. Use corrosive always for high level content, procs remove armor.
or just put blast on everything like I do
1 ReplyEdited by B1GT1LL: 5/11/2017 10:15:06 PMTigris prime 100% status build, primed point blank, hells chamber, sweeping serration, punch through mod. Akstilleto prime (or euphona) the usual primed pistol gambit and target cracker, barrel diffusion, lethal torrent, your damage mods. (Primed pistol mutation for akstilleto) The melee weapon I use galatine prime or nikana prime. Ohma is amazing aswell. Edit 1: corrosive for grinner actually unless you can remove all armor then it's radiation/viral.

1 ReplyJust use boltor prime and you'll be good(unless they nerfed it)

I just run in with My Frost, Broken war, and a Huras Kubrow named Bob Dylan. So, I think I found a good set-up

Edited by Goldship: 5/12/2017 4:11:20 AMHow to get rid of nearly everything that is annoying (Note I didn't say this is a powerful build but it does work well for supporting a fire team) Hallikar for cameras/turrets plus the chance to disarm is nice Miter with augment to destroy bull bubbles And dirga to clear sensors/traps of annoying things

1 ReplyTry plasma sword with spoiled strike

4 RepliesGun. Armour. And you're pretty set to go!
-
If you use a high critical how your damage can go up to a million depending on the mods
-
11 RepliesUse Hek and get it's SM mod and use a maxed Hells Chamber and a base damage mod. Then try to get the status up to 100% with the damage+stauts chance mods. The least amount of mage I am doing is 800 impact.

Everything in existence: crit build zarr

Slash is the universal damage type. Bleed procs ignore armor. Making them ideal for every faction, assuming you have decent status. With very low status, then I guess, yes, puncture for grineer(unless you have 4 CPs), impact for corpus, and slash for infested. Corrosive should always be ran. The only exceptions are: you have 4 CPs, or you're doing corpus missions, in which case go toxin and magnetic. Yes, alloy armor is weak against radiation, but the damage increase from radiation is irrelevant because of the way damage reduction is calculated. Shredding armor is the most vital part of fighting grineer. Best elemental combos are: Corrosive/blast(or just heat) Gas/electric Toxin/Magnetic

Soma Prime, Vaykor Hek, and Zarr are all you need.

3 RepliesEdited by Upperclass Bum: 5/11/2017 9:57:18 PMI hardly ever run specific setups for factions... If the weapon is crit based, then I boost the crit as well as whatever raw damage type is its strongest, then put on corrosive, gas, blast, viral or any combination of them. I almost always use corrosive on my melees regardless of faction (which btw, corrosive is better for grineer than it is infested and viral is better for corpus than it is grineer) but sometimes use a viral config or gas if I'm using Naramon and / or a stealth frame. Ideally, I always have multiple combos on one config whenever possible (corrosive + blast + gas being my favorite). Also, look up the channel Distant Observer. The guy has some crazy builds and combos.
