Was your time wasted grinding and building your character
I was very disappointed when I read the news. I felt all the time I and my son and friends put into getting all the gear and leveling up our light levels was a waste. All of the other games we didn't bother playing what a waste. One of the things that attracted us to Destiny was the fact that it was supposed to be a ten year saga to watch our characters evolve and to grow almost like having a friend to keep coming back to and enjoy there companionship . Now what bungie is doing is just another continuation game Destiny 2 then 3 then 4. Just keep wiping your progress and starting over. Who really cares about saving the looks of your character most guardians never remove there helmets. Your looks were your armor shaders emblems types of weapons slung on your back your Raid gear or Iron banner gear etc etc. Now you (Bungie ) want us to continue with you to do it ALL over again with just different planets different gear different weapons but probably the same old grind. Here's an idea how about sticking to the original plan , KEEPING what we already have achieved our levels our light OUR things and building on that. Moving forward on our original characters as a base going to a new Galaxy. Probably not because it's easier just to erase all our progress I mean we're only the players. Well I will end this rant with one word DISAPPOINTMENT

Yes, it does feel like a waste of time. The worst part is that the odds of Destiny 2 actually be worth losing all of our gear is pretty slim.

Yes I'm disappointed but as long as the sequel has a better and cohesive story, more vault space and better crucible mechanics and dedicated servers then it's OK. I think it is a little bit of a bummer that your weapons and armor and stuff won't carry forward but I feel I put 3 years into this game and I'm at the point I want to start over anyway

Destiny players complain about lack of content, but want their weapons to transfer over to destiny 2. I. Just want a fresh start because I am so done with 3 year of the SAME OLD WEAPONS [spoiler]i love all of the weapons in destiny, but a change is greatly appreciated[/spoiler]

Oh, the drama. Shakespeare has gotten nothing on you guys. "Farewell, fair cruelty." "What is past is prologue". LOL. Come on, it's not that big a deal. The fun of the game is grinding for things. Most likely, the cries against this reset are from those who fear losing an advantage.

Have you ever played another video game before? They all take time, and then another game or sequel comes out and you invest your time in it again. As long as you are having fun how is it wasted? For example, I played about 25,000 halo 3 matches which I could look at now and be like damn I wasted alot of time. But how I look at it, is damn I had a hell of a time those years playing that game

Edited by benzjie: 3/3/2017 10:21:53 PMI'd be more than happy with a " hall of fame" that you can visit in D2 , with all your exotics, achievements etc displayed . Maybe year 1 armor skins from the raids that you can infuse with D2 armor.

3 RepliesNo. I had great times on this game with friends, my over all experience wasn't perfect, because this game is far from it, but it was a good time. I'm happy. It's time to move forward. Besides, it's (hopefully) safe to say D1 will remain online for a good while longer.

No, I grinded for in the moment satisfaction. I don't want to bring my old stuff with me, taking up space when I have new gear to grind for. If I want to show off my D1 items, anyone can just look up my D1 profile.

It is a continuation of our guardian because that's the only thing transferring over lol Why anyone thought that all weapons and armor would transfer is beyond me

2 RepliesHonestly - I'm ready for a fresh start and have no problems leaving my Destiny characters behind and so I don't feel as if I've wasted my time building my characters since 2014. I came in wanting to experience and enjoy the Destiny universe and not just be stuck to "one" character. The way I look at it is I see my current characters are just but one of many that have the possibility of being in the overall Destiny universe and so I want to be able to have the chance to experience it from different perspectives.

Yeah. I wish there was somehow, a way, so that, we had, cosmetic items, that, you could get, from completing raids and strikes in D1... But I guess those don't exist.

No I had fun and my best memories come from destiny. It got me through a time when I had no friends because I had recently left school and went into homeschooling after a lot of bulling and destiny gave me such great times and now I have a ton of friends I play with to this day

Not really. It'll be good to have a fresh start. I don't regret the hours I've put into Destiny 1 and the hours I'll continue to put in until Destiny 2.
