This is long: but it needed to be said
1st of all Bungie how do you release a major patch when half of it is unintentionally bugged because of the change you made to hungering blade. That is unacceptable considering the amount of time it has been since the last sandbox balancing update. I'm starting to think that you didn't start working on this patch til like 2 weeks ago. Unacceptable.
Now on to the changes you actually meant to make. I think 90% of them were uncalled for and will have a negative impact on the game- but I'll just hit the highlights.
Most obviously blade dancer... The only thing in need of a nerf on blade was shinobu's vow- which imo they messed that up as well. But no you nerf the whole damn subclass. Give me one reason to run blade dancer. It now has a poor super, poor melee, and a poor neutral game. You killed it- great job. This alone is enough for me to say that your whole balancing team needs reworked- nobody in this entire community called for this.
Onto special anmo- bungie this was the wrong way to go about making us use our primaries, but I'm sure you saw it as the easy way out and took it. The community has been screaming to buff primaries for months now- why don't you listen? This is going to slow the game down to a stalemate of team shotting and camping- nobody wants that.
The last thing I want to touch on is your nerf to max armor builds. Having max armor was something cool that you could choose to customize your class with because it could give you small benefits here and there. Now why would I run it? How about instead of nerfing the armor stat you buff agility so that there is a good reason to run high agility. You are basically making customization pointless by nerfing these stats. This goes to all the subclass changes as well (accept for jug, that was a perfect change).
It has become apparent now that bungie is purposely trying to slow this game down for god knows why as well as make every class play the same by nerfing all the cool things about each of them to the ground. They are trying to turn Destiny into Halo.
I am losing faith in you bungie. I feel that a studio as incompetent as the one that released this broken patch could not possibly make a good Destiny 2. It is not too late though, if you want to get the trust of your community back I seriously recommend you reverse the majority of the changes you launched today. Take another month or two, rethink your whole balancing approach- and give us a solid April update- and this time listen to the people who actually play your game.

35 RepliesI can defend bungie. And trust me, I will. This game will never die as long as this community lives on! Content can be as dry as the Sahara and I'll still come back for more! There's always something to do. This patch has changed the game in the best way possible! Primaries are great, and the only thing Nerfed into oblivion is blade, and let's be honest, no hunter uses blade anyways. I never used it and never will. Bungie has made a game that is great and different. There's no where to go but up. As I said in other posts, bungie is not perfect and neither are we. Except it. This game is great and so is the community. I respect you opinion, just like I do others, so give this a chance. Use different things and most of all, have fun! -Jordan.

10 RepliesThis is by far the worst destiny has been. All that is in the crucible now are those players that are running sidearms. There is nothing now that is stopping fusion grenades from just sticking you and running away. There is NLB that take some skill to kill but should not be hitting people while they are taking head shots. Happens way to much. Can't wait to not play this game this weekend.

Edited by mojoo j0j0: 2/17/2017 3:48:32 PMI agree, I mean special weapons were annoying, but don't chang the whole game. Geez bungie, over reacted on this hotfix. They got tired of ppl bitching

4 RepliesReading through the comments about this patch is interesting. Personally, I despise it so far. Never had a more frustrating Crucible experience. Some people are claiming hand cannons are better? That's ludicrous. They buffed initial shot accuracy, which no one with thumbs had issues with. Then they heighten the affects of bloom and add noticeable flinch? Unnecessary. And, for some reason, Pulse Rifles are still Bungie's baby. So sick of feeling the need to swap to a PR just to win engagements on bigger maps. The majority of ARs are still bad with unnoticeable changes in their ttk. Seeing some slight weapon diversity, but it seems to have settled on Pulse Rifles of any type/NLB and Trespasser/Wormwood. Pretty disgusting if you ask me...that after 2 years of gladly pocketing money for DLCs they can't bring themselves to simply give us a well thought out weapons balance patch. It's as if they really don't even play enough of their own game to know what needs tweaking and reworking. Data and stats are fine, but you have to actually experience what the average player experiences as well.

Wow do you play just pvp ? Play pve this update made it better

They're lowering expectations for D2. If they make this game complete dog shit then the arrival of D2 will seem like a godsend. That's the only explanation I can come with a studio intentionally ruining their own product. Or they just needed to push some kind of patch through to entice players into coming back, even for an initial log in so they could document the inflated numbers and report it to shareholders. That way the community won't seem as dwindled as it really is.

They're killing the game in prep for D2

Patch sucks.

is good.

2 RepliesI'm perfectly fine with the patch, I find it enjoyable to play. The only thing I don't like about it is the accidental changes to some health regeneration perks. Those need to be fixed.

1 ReplyI am dissatisfied and I wish this game wasn't in the state that it currently is. It's like the hot girlfriend, but there's just no depth to her so she literally bores the crap out of you.

All I gotta say in all this chaos is... TitanMasterRace lol 😂😂😂😂😂

is it just me or did they nerf the armor stat to much? also... did blessing of light get nerfed? the overshield is already gone after 1 or rarely 1 1/2 hits... even with the perk that increases its effect.

2 RepliesDitto brother! Ditto.

1 ReplyI wouldn't mind the special ammo thing as much if sidearm's took that same hit. Now all you see in the crucible is people main'ing sidearm's. I honestly don't know what game these people are playing when they said "I see so many more primary engagements." Literally only see primary fights at very far ranges. Anything mid to close range is always sidearm. It's way more toxic than previous shotgun meta in my opinion.
-
5 RepliesThis is somewhat true, first it has been over 6 months without a patch, and Bungie found out about the bug after they announced it for the 14th. Also, what does the word special mean, well, it means better, greater. So with the new special ammo changes, you are reworded with special ammo with trying hard. Also, if they just buffed primaries that could have worked but you would still have the problem of specials. I think it balaced the game really well. It gets ride of most of the shotgunner rushers and snipers I would say are still good. I bet your just pissed that your matador is not good anymore
-
2 RepliesAgreed, it's painful seeing such rampant stupidity. Also, I'm pretty sure they're slowing the game down further and further so they can actually play it themselves. I mean did anyone see them attempting to "play" in that last stream? Thumbless monkeys could both play and program better.
-
Agreed, remember though...their whole team is working on D2..they did kill this game

You guys, taste what us trash feel. We came back with smiles on our faces happy with what we have in Destiny, not getting Dragoned across the map. Only a auto in our hands, and a side arm on our sides.

10 RepliesEdited by Pyloxious: 2/16/2017 12:21:10 PM
Now on to the changes you actually meant to make. I think 90% of them were uncalled for and will have a negative impact on the game- but I'll just hit the highlights.
It's more like 10% for me. Things that annoy me from the patch: 1. Truth Nerf. Totally makes no sense. It wasn't even a problem. 2. "Hungering Blade" inadvertently affecting other health regeneration perks. The only thing that it should affect is "Cauterize". The rest needs to be reverted back. The rest of the changes to BladeDancer is fine. 3. I'm agreeing with you on the Max Armor Nerf. The rest of the changes are fine with me. Why? Here's my argument regarding come of the things you've said. You claimed BladeDancer changes were uncalled for. The only change to it is the "Hungering Blade" perk. Let's not count Shinobu's Vow since we're specifically talking about Subclass. I've mentioned above that do agree with the changes if it affects "Cauterize". By Bungie reasoning, I agree. With the Special Ammo Economy being changed, you will mostly be using only your Primaries to take them down. So, having Bladedancers and Sunbreakers regenerating health just after one kill is a problem. If you're just running straight to a bunch of Guardians with a direct line of sight and get team shot'd, it's a "You" problem. Being too dependant on "Hungering Blade" and swinging wildly and hope for the best. Okay, moving on. You claimed "Buff Primaries" and removing Specials upon death is not what the Community "wanted". Bungie did give a slight push to the Primaries that needs it. Bitching and whining from the "Community"(more like the outspoken minority) about the Matador 64 caused the Special Ammo changes. Don't get me wrong. Matador was a problem. That Archetype should just be deleted. The Community did want a "Primary Meta" and the changes did do that. So, kudos to Bungie. Is the nerf to GoM and Clever Dragon justifiable? Absolutely. It was running rampant in the Crucible. Especially when the Clever Dragon has High Calibur Rounds. A pea shooter causing so much flinch is ridiculous. If they are to "Buff Primaries" too much, you could see a fast Time to Kill. Too fast actually and everything needs to be reworked. From Guardians Health to even the Minions of Darkness health in PvE. It could possibly break PvE. So, there you go. My 2 cents.

1 ReplyBungie loves to show favoritism, and they clearly hate Hunters. Their game balancing sucks, and as a company in the whole, suck.
-
4 RepliesI've played for the past couple nights. Rift, Clash, Mayhem Clash, & Control. Only 6V6s. HROF pulses with 27+ clips(Hawksaw Archetype incl) and decent stability still wreck. HCs are also very good. Everything else primary wise is a personal preference thing. Honestly the other guns and archetypes don't compete with the two previously mentioned. This patch from a primary weapon perspective is meh. Failure to balance. Sidearms are used because of the special ammo change. Basically the only reason. I'm okay as there is something new to try and there's less shotgunning, so ok that's new & different. Special weapon perspective is meh. Failure to balance Nerf the Truth, thanks for the 2 exotic shards. Hello legendary RL w/Tracking & Tripod. Heavy weapon perspective is meh. Failure by the Dev Team to have a clue! Overall the 2-5-02 patch is meh. Failure to balance. Failure by the Dev. Team.
