No Land Beyond: Rant
Please tell me why some of you guys on the forums think No Land Beyond is OP or takes no skill to use. I am curious what your line of thinking is because....
(1) it doesn't even have that high AA.
(2) reload glitch doesn't always work, and the misfire can get you killed.
(3) It may say it is a Medium/High Impact type but it starts you off with a 292 Headshot until "The Master" is active.
(4) You still have a ridiculous flinch when being fired at, and unless the target is standing still most NLB users won't land the headshot in mid-fire fight.
(5) No one said anything about it until they nerfed snipers across the board and Clever Dragon became the meta. Literally everyone that complains about NLB only started when the new Clever-Meta started.
(6) You may spawn with Ammo but you lose having an actual primary. Like seriously? Everyone bitching when they have the most OP set up in the game. If you miss your shot, the Clever Dragon or Matador will eat you alive every time (Hell even TLW users do).
(7) NLB is only as good as your aim, it is not very forgiving with headshots because of the unique sight.
(8) It isn't a weapon that anyone can pick up and get kills with (Like the Clever Dragon or Mapadork)
(9) Mulligan sometimes -blam!-s up your reload glitch attempt so you have to wait to fire your weapon anyways.
(10) It was rated the most underused and useless exotic in the beginning. Hell people asked for buffs or tweaks with it because it was underused. Now that it is being used, people are calling it OP or needs a nerf?
Shame on all of you who disrespect NLB and it's good name. Pick it up yourself and use it until the update happens (see how OP it is then).
*Edits/Update* I had no idea my rant was going to be getting this many likes and responses. Thank you all who have discussed this, it has brought some insight and I would like to share some of my thoughts about what people are saying about the gun.

You are stupid as -blam!- bro, it has no flinch. It has a reload glitch that is faster than any sniper in the game. It has a hit box that is bigger than a hand cannon. Are you kidding me? Stop praising the meta and start using things that actually take skill. It is really sad how people actually say that this gun has skill involved.

14 RepliesIt actually has 0 flinch whatsoever in any way at all. The only thing is that the iron sights move, where your bullet goes, however, stays in the exact place it was. I have over 3,000 PvP kills with it with over a 75% headshot ratio (pretty sure, if not, very close to those numbers), so I'm not just some bitch complaining about a weapon. It's the easiest sniper to use in the game and has infinite ammo, and lets you have a Matador equipped at the same time. Until other snipers get a massive buff, NLB is a broken weapon. Get over yourself, you're not special for using the easiest sniper in the game, sorry.

The only thing bugging me is shooting ppl in the head with a high caliber pulse/scout and they casually headshot u because noflinchbeyond Only nerf it needs is adding f.cking flinch

I don't use it and I don't care about it, like about 90% of the community. Only people who are killed 2 or 3 times in a game and are salty about it care.

2 RepliesAs a No Land user (started in house of wolves) I hate to say it but after this 14th update, No Land/Sidearm becomes extremely viable as it ignores the special changes. I miss when it wasn't that popular and everyone being mad when xur sold it because they thought it was garbage, now everybody will complain about it more...

NLB is as good as its user. I've practiced with it & still can't get those headshots like I want..it's not an easy gun to use & as you said your basically giving up your primary when using it

Spent a week learning to use it and scrapped it. Props to those NLB users. Odds are those that are good with it would stomp me anyway That's why I really hate all the nerf posts. Not one single nerf has raised or lowered my kd what so ever

6 RepliesMy issue with No land is pretty simple. If I put two luna shots into you, you then shouldn't be able to dome me before I can get the third shot off. You might argue that's just skill on the part of the no land user, but it happens way too often. This to me means it doesn't take a high amount of skill, and it's because of the lack of flinch no land has. I just want it's flinch brought in line with other snipers.

1 ReplyPeople complaining about NLB, the worst PoS in Y1, is just an indication of how badly Bungie has nerfed the shit out of everything else. Today, they will share their plans to balance crucible. What do you think is more likely? Bungie buffing anything over 0.04%, or them nerfing NLB, and everything else people use? You might as well just scrap that NLB now for the exotic shard.

Second, the flinch is only visual, if you aimed at the head and shoot while flinched without moving the scope, it's still a headshot even if your scope is not on the target. Even more, since the flinch is only visual. Every sniper is just as good as oyur aim, but NLB is not affected by the flinch. Now UR got a nerf and a regular Mapador is better than UR and through the only visual flinch, NLB is better than any other sniper. Now I'm not asking for a nerf on this weapon. I'm asking to fix the glitches. reload glitch shouldn't be a thing and the flinch shouldn't only be visual. That's it.

14 RepliesBungie will announce a change to NLB's flinch since the change to sniper flinch inadvertently caused a glitch in the NLB flinch whenever they made the changes. Not in the way everyone thinks, they're going to increase it on the guise that the flinch is only visual. meaning you can aim at someone with the middle of your screen while ADS and getting shot, and will still land the head shot/ body shot. 3 RepliesIt's a one hit kill weapon from all ranges that always has ammo in it and has significant flinch reduction in comparison to other snipers. Also sidearms are better than primaries. NLB does take skill, but it's cheap. Especially after the next patch goes live. So is universal remote.
