I say remove the 3 loses.
Simple as that, you want to know why so many casuals are leaving now? It's not only the sweaty Trials streamers or just mlg players who enjoy denying people from setting foot into the Lighthouse, it's also because of the intimidation of those losing 3 wins.
I will definitely get a lot of hate from elitist and sweaty Trials players who enjoy denying people hopes and dreams of getting to the lighthouse
cause well lets face it, it's the only thing they got going for them in life's satisfaction
I suggest we remove the 3 loses, this way it may fix the problems of the increased amount of casual players avoiding Trials in general. Sure it will take people a long time to get 9 wins (more then others I'd should say) but at least it would appeal to more players and new streamers starting out who want to play Trials every weekend.
I know I will get lots of hate from those who think they are almighty champions who needs to feed their ego. But let's face it, Trials at the moment is dwindling in interest. I see no one wants to play it and I don't blame them. If we can fix this maybe more people can have a chance at participation without intimidation of the 3 loses in the back of their mind and just concentrate on having fun in a competitive game mode.
Dear Cozmo I hope you can see this post after the amount of hate comments I will be receiving.
Btw it's just a game guys enjoy it, have fun!
Also can we talk about spawn flipping perhaps in Trials that would freshen up the experience.

Oh look scrubs looking for more hand outs

2 RepliesI mean, Trials was sweaty in Year One, it's just mainly with all the people using the abuse on PSN, DDoSing, Kicking Players, Comnectivity Issues, etc. It's killing Trials more than it is helping it now. If I were any say in Bungie, I'd say remove Trials of Osiris, and use The Lighthouse as a social space in Destiny 2 or something like that.

1 ReplyOr just make it so there are no boons and you can go flawless with two losses on the card
-
well said. i never understood why trials has more gear than normal crucible. it has weapons, armor and then adept versions and ornaments too of those. but the amount of people playing trials vs the amount of people playing regular crucible is a huge difference. yet crucible has only 5 to 6 guns and they too are rare drops. and there is no crucible armor at all. i get it if trials give better gear, but normal crucible doesnt have much loot so if u only play pvp and dont like trials u are forced to wait for iron banner. and there too the armor is in rotation so u have to wait for the next month if the piece ur looking for is not for sale.

2 RepliesSomeone else suggested on reddit that instead of having losses, you get bumped back 2 wins. Boons would still apply. I think it's a better solution.
-
Lol true
-
I think they should add a lesser lighthouse where if you go flawless you get much better rewards then someone who got 3 losses with 9 wins. It will keep casuals playing Trials
-
Yeah I'd really like this.
-
5 Repliesmap rotation...
-
Or bungie can add the y3 gear to the bounties. Don't know why bungie removed it.
-
Honestly I thinking they made the gold bounty a little too hard for filthy casuals. When I'm playing with lfg I have to reset my card like 4 times to get that done. They should keep trials how it is. I'm bad but still go flawless once in a lifetime
-
I like this idea better than the tiered play list someone proposed months ago. Still would be a huge challenge to get 9 wins in the short span of a weekend for most the community. Especially if they keep the current trials matchmaking.
-
Love this idea. Maybe balance it out though so you can only get the flawless ornaments if you go flawless, that way there is intensive to still try and go flawless for people.
-
3 RepliesIm more worried about them fixing pvp in genera As of right now Destiny pvp just doesn't feel right i dont know exactly what it is, but something is just off about the whole thing
-
I can see why you want this and I can't blame you. It's FREAKING HARD! I only been flawless once, and that was with a carry by a streamer!
-
1 ReplyI've never been flawless and I think removing the three losses would completely destroy the entire point of ToO.
-
5 RepliesWait, you mean to tell me the most competitive mode in the game doesn't favor casual player? I would've never guessed. In all seriousness, I don't play trials often. I've only been flawless 3 times and all of those times were in year 1. I play with a group of friends and we aren't the best, we're pretty average. When we play we have a goal, get to 7 wins. Normally we dont but usually we get 5. walking away with 5 win at least feels great because it feels like we earned that. It's really enjoyable. If getting to 5 or 7 wins was a matter of "When" not "If" then i wouldn't enjoy trials. I'm not there to get loot, I'm there to earn loot.
-
1 ReplyIf it wasn't for the record book, i wouldn't do it at all. I think that's why Bungie put it in there, to try to get people other than the sweaties to play it at all.
-
1 ReplyMaybe paying a certain amount of passage coins will remove a loss ? Make the amount required somewhat steep so people can't just rely on using passage coins all the time to clear losses. Just throwing it out there. Your idea isn't bad either.

Edited by Swiftlock: 12/20/2016 7:29:40 PMThat really kills a lot of the excitement of actually overcoming skilled enemies and making the climb to the Lighthouse. Sounds boring. Some of the most tense and exciting moments I've had in Destiny were in heated Trials matches with two losses already on the card and triumphing in the end.
-
12 RepliesLosses don't stop your card. 9 wins on the card get you to the Lighthouse. Only a Flawless card gets you a key to open the Flawless chest. That would be acceptable.
-
How about not taking away the losses but allow people to go to the light house with up to 2 loses. You get 3 and you'll have to start over. This way people that get lucky enough to make it to 8 wins aren't shafted right away. Just don't give them the flawless emblem.

2 RepliesEdited by HRD2KIL: 12/20/2016 5:55:59 PM
Trials players who enjoy denying people hopes and dreams of getting to the lighthouse
Those are by far the funniest hopes and dreams ever denied! lol
-
Lmao at that spoiler, like this idea. Bump the hell out of this.
-
1 Reply3 losses is good as it is, the only thing I hate is the boons, now where's the fun in free quick 3 wins? Lmfao I feel like putting on boons just ruins your luck n matches you with sweats right off the bat, like I'd have better luck starting a card without boons.

Edited by zJDz: 12/20/2016 7:14:52 PMIf you lose twice no flawless (with mercy). So you want to keep playing just to reach the 7 wins to get the weapon? So you could have 7 wins and 7 losses on a card? I would think they could increase the number of losses you can have on a single card. What you are saying though is you want to go flawless after winning seven games no matter how many you lost. That would make more people play but also make the rewards less meaningful. So no it's a bad idea. Flawless should stay how it is. Adding more losses to a card so more people can get the weapon should be added though.
