Now that Trials have become more sweatier and fewer casual players a propose that I am sure many will rip my head off for
I say remove the 3 loses.
Simple as that, you want to know why so many casuals are leaving now? It's not only the sweaty Trials streamers or just mlg players who enjoy denying people from setting foot into the Lighthouse, it's also because of the intimidation of those losing 3 wins.
I will definitely get a lot of hate from elitist and sweaty Trials players who enjoy denying people hopes and dreams of getting to the lighthouse [spoiler]cause well lets face it, it's the only thing they got going for them in life's satisfaction[/spoiler]
I suggest we remove the 3 loses, this way it may fix the problems of the increased amount of casual players avoiding Trials in general. Sure it will take people a long time to get 9 wins (more then others I'd should say) but at least it would appeal to more players and new streamers starting out who want to play Trials every weekend.
I know I will get lots of hate from those who think they are almighty champions who needs to feed their ego. But let's face it, Trials at the moment is dwindling in interest. I see no one wants to play it and I don't blame them. If we can fix this maybe more people can have a chance at participation without intimidation of the 3 loses in the back of their mind and just concentrate on having fun in a competitive game mode.
Dear Cozmo I hope you can see this post after the amount of hate comments I will be receiving.
Btw it's just a game guys enjoy it, have fun!
Also can we talk about spawn flipping perhaps in Trials that would freshen up the experience.

You have many shots at going flawless, but if you lose three continual games you're out. Another way trials can be changed is by having wins make up for losses. If you have a 6-1 card, winning a game makes it 6-0, instead of 7-1. Bungie should add something more substantial for trials bounties, maybe one weekly radiant box from completing 4 gold tiers in one weekend. Or sometime make the shaxx bounty in trials, though that would trigger millions. Just thinking of ways to draw more people to trials

If all us "average" players stopped playing trials all these elitists would start bitching like some of us average players do. I like trials and still play every weekend but going flawless again seems pretty unlikely for my boys and me. Wouldn't change anything with trials except maybe letting us put boons on whenever again. But at some point all trials is going to be is the 1% playing. Doesn't seem like the best idea for a game to have only 1% of the player base playing the best aspect of the game. Would be nice to somehow get more casual players back into trials again.

5 RepliesTrials is ridiculous. Stremers and top 1% players doing carries run trials the entire time its on, as well as the best groups just running again and again. I agree that you shouldnt just be given a flawless run as a participation trophy but in the current state an average group has almost no chance. Im even seeing highly skilled streamers doing single carries repeatedly get destroyed. As an average player I dont even bother now.

Is the lighthouse still "9-0"? (really 7-0 or 8-0) If so then good suggestion. The lighthouse is something I achieved several times in year 1, but not once in year 2. So I'm not an elitist, but it should never be that easy.

You all asked for this. Of course trials is going to be worse, you're all demanding a PvP ecosystem which selectively preys on bad players. All of the casual players are gone.

I like it, the very idea posted by overly smug Bungie employees that average players were never intended to go to the Lighthouse has been totally undermined by criminals using DoS attacks, lag switchers and the paid for carries, which themselves contribute toward criminal activity such as tax evasion. I proposed a Lighthouse visit after 1000 wins in a season. That way it still requires commitment. Maybe just 9 wins is a but easy.

1 ReplyFrom someone who has been to the lighthouse 20 times...something needs to change. The dwindling numbers in Trials since Rise of Iron is showing the lack of interest. I would support a new system of 9 wins. Losses are still losses and you need to win to get rid of a loss. 3 losses straight is a elimination. The flawless system is great for sweaties but the consistency of players not playing, soon the sweaties won't want to play or carry. Face it, this game has been out since 2014. Make Trials better by rewarding dedicated teams who want 9 wins in a row on a card. Not 1 loss, means a start over. It's discouraging. Something this game doesn't need when Bungee wants to sell Destiny's 2 and scrap this game.

This. I go flawless when I want to (it's not hard) but having sweat my dick off every round is annoying so I just stopped playing. I barely even play destiny period. Just got back on for a little STL today and that's it

4 RepliesThis is the result of giving children participation awards. We are teaching people at a young age that as long as you try you should get an award. This is a terrible way to teach your kids. Teach your kids to be competitors and not just participants.
