Increasingly, since so called Next Gen consoles came out, there have higher and higher pay walls. Wether it's pre-order this or DLC that, there always seems to be something. What happened to paying your 60 bucks on purchase and getting what you paid for? I'm not certain when the distributors started building said wall but it's there. High enough that getting over it takes some thinking.
Understanding that a business can only stay open if they can make money, can't be a sequel if the first one doesn't make money, I get that. However when I buy any product I expect to get everything at once, cosmetic or functional I expect a good salesmen to show me the works.
When I bought my first Album(large round objects that emit sound) all the songs were included plus "bonus" tracks.
When I bought my first $100 pair of shoes, it came with laces.(Jordan's )
First car I purchased, all the options where laid out BEFORE I bought the car.
The gaming industry has milked us for too long. I understand new content, I don't understand greed. How much is enough, tell me up front that for 100 dollars I'll get x y and z but stop with the bread crum trail crap. Give me what I paid for. No mans Sky and the new COD are perfect examples. The first was sold as a Triple A title and it sucked donkey balls, the other had to use its former success to sell its current failure.
Next time you are at GameStop or wherever, no more pre orders, stop with "legendary" versions of things. Do you really need some "collect able ", no you don't . Save your money for yourself.
I don't understand greed
There's nothing to understand. It's simply the way things are here in capitalism. No amount of salty threads or internet petitions are going to just persuade corporations to be more generous. Now if a thousand of us pick up rocks, pull our money out of banks and start burning down McDonald's...might make a statement that way.

1 ReplyMost of these ideas come from the the big gaming monopolies like Microsoft or Activision, so our opinion doesn't effect games that do this at all because all of our feedback goes to developers about this. But the developers signed a contract so they can't do shit either.

1 ReplyEdited by A Jackal Sniper: 11/18/2016 3:59:26 PMDeveloping video games is an expensive process, not to mention stressful and tedious when deadlines are involved. They have to make their money back and get a profit somehow, since people refuse to allow them to raise the prices of games. Hence why every game now has DLC or MT's. Or both.

Edited by TonyPartridge30: 11/18/2016 4:21:07 PMSome legendary editions of games are worth it, especially to die hard fans. My Halo Reach legendary edition was super worth it. But that was at the peak of my Halo fanboyism; I probably won't get another legendary edition for any game.

I generally feel I get my monies worth from the games I buy without the need to buy DLC. If I feel the DLC is worth the money (Witcher 3) I'll buy it. Simple.

Pay to play
That phrase....I don't think it means what you think it means.

2 RepliesIf you're going to indent and not use proper paragraphs, at the very least take the time out to add ¶ where needed... As for the subject of your post, no... Just no...

Pre orders do not make money for the devs. It makes money for the store you are ordering from. They take your money, put it in the bank and make money off the interest.

Edited by Oxide: 11/18/2016 6:49:54 PMMember when people thought that developers made dlc from scrap after they finished the game but now they apparently aren't able too?
pre ordered the deluxe edition of mass effect
I also still don't see why you think pre ordering is a bad thing when all it is saying is your getting the game day one which EVEN THEN YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT UNTIL YOU PICK IT UP WHICH CAN BE WITHIN A WEEK DEPENDING ON YOUR STORE! Sorry a little vent there.
