Witcher 3 by such a large margin it's not debatable. Wether you like the game or not. I'd change the title to which you prefer instead which one is better/prefer to make it a fair arguement. Witcher 3 for me as why to should be obvious

      • I think The Witcher is way more quality but I prefer Fallout just because its more simple, I've never played a true RPG, so The Witcher is very over whelming to me, I'm sure I'll get over that eventually and change my opinion though

        • Well... I haven't played Witcher. So I'm a little biased :/ But I also won't say Fallout is better because I don't know.
For honorable service. Against all tyrants. Sic semper tyrannis.
• Different games. Witcher 3s the better (if not the best) traditional RPG, awsome story, graphics and boobs. Witcher 3s strong suits die down once the game is over. Fallout 4s more immersive IMO (probably because it's first person). I much prefer fps combat to 3rd person hack n slash. Fallout 4s open world exploring/causing havoc in the wasteland/just surviving! keeps me gripped for longer.

        • Fallout 4. The building wasn't fun at first, just annoying. But soon I was trying to find more places to get wood and steel to finish my castle. I loved the new shooting mechanics, it was very nice gunplay. The main story left a little to be desired, but so did 3. The main characters did a pretty good job at being who they were supposed to be. The exploration was fun, and the new super mutants, beasts and raiders were a nifty thing. The addition of legendary enemies and weapons was pretty cool and brought a new sense of danger into fights. The individual little stories that make fallout, fallout were also very well done. A little light on the vaults, but it's fine. The D.L.C Far Harbor added a great vault with a cast that you can tell had fun with it. Automatron was a quirky couple hours that had a great little twist at the end, and the robot companions were a great touch. I feel the wasteland workshops are cop outs, and am very disappointed with them. I'd have preferred another full length D.L.C. but Nuka-Cola looks promising. The updated search system through drawers and whatnot was an ingenious addition. It was really a touch of new. However, the getting rid of skill points for all in on perks was a little disappointing, and I wished I'd known they did it before I got it (Day One). But it's a minor gripe, and the perks are pretty well done. There's no question the dialogue got extremely dumbed down and is by far the worst thing about the game. The voice acting was also atrocious at times, and it felt less like my character than it had in say...New Vegas or even 3. Most dialogue choices are yes, no, question and sarcasm, and it was pretty obvious what it was, but not what would be said. Making some conversations more of a gamble than they should have been. The color coded speech checks could also be done away with. They were not my cup of tea. But the Witcher 3 was not better, I know it's based on a book, and not freely done. But still. Geralt is your stereotypical tough but lovable guy who all the women want to sleep with, the kind who can do whatever he wants and he's strong. He felt more like a Renaissance superhero than an actual person. There was a mass amount of content yes, but it wasn't all good. The maps have a ton of empty space, and 89% of N.P.C's are still the same 4 voices saying one of two different dialogue trees. Some weren't even words. Just like Fallout, there were a lot of characters I didn't care for, and by extensions, their stories. But unlike Fallout, I couldn't choose to back out and kill them all. The main story was pretty good, and even compelling at some parts. But that feeling was often lost in the clunky movement mechanics of Geralt as you go somewhere. Example: Triss' quest with the wizards. Geralts controls almost had me break my t.v they were so bad. The Witcher Sense's were often laggy and took a couple seconds of focusing to highlight something. Which brings me to the combat. It was super easy, and very disheartening. The enemies were a trifle if you just looked in the bestiary and went in with knowledge. The signs were mostly pointless, as you could fight without them with the exceptions of a few enemies. Igni was my preferred sign, and it was just so unfair to the enemies that I stopped in order to give them a chance. Dialogue system was pretty good, and the conversations were well voiced. The denotation of important choices in conversation was lovely and a big step up from fallout. The romance is also far better done than fallout, in that it is deeper and more is shown in conversation. It feel more like a real relationship. Sadly, it seems like it's just a bit too much sometimes. I don't mind nudity, it doesn't bother me. But here it seems like they're just trying to upstage Mass Effect and Dragon Age by actually showing breasts and asses. The leveling system, I also felt like was very low on the reward side. After 40 hours and everything I'd been through, it just seemed like I should be more than level 20. Overall, I liked Fallout better. Witcher three had a better already written story, but Fallout let me (kind of) write my own story. Fo4 had far superior movement and gun mechanics as well as better intervals between dull shit and exciting parts (fallout 4 pretty much let you choose when you wanted to do either and for how long). Witcher has a lot more content, but most of it often seems dull to me, and just there. It doesn't move me. Not that Fallout 4 did either, but it didn't try to. Which you can take either way. The rewards for doing things in Fallout also made me a lot more interested in staying in, instead of drudging along through witcher. Fallout wins for me, because it was more fun, and more my own. tl:dr

Own both, and I'm a Bethesda fan to the core, but Witcher 3 kills almost every other game I've played. The writing, plot, and character development is just too good.

              • Kind of comparing apples to oranges. FPS vs 3rd person. That aside, both are good games, lots of content. There are some elements of silliness in both like gwent and horse racing in W3 or building structures in FC4. I enjoyed my 60+ hours in each but when I had enough, I had enough. I have no desire to play either at all regardless of how good the DLC's might be.

              • I liked both but witcher is just so massive I played through the story once and had a 100hour play time and Gwent is hands down my favourite card game now. I haven't played either in a while though

                • Fallout 4 is one of the most boring games I've ever played. The Witcher 3 is the best game I've ever played. I had more fun in Hearts of Stone than I did with the entirety of Fallout 4. Bethesda is shit. I don't understand how a company that makes such poor performing and buggy games is so popular.

Share played it for 2 hrs and couldn't get past the combat in Witcher 3. Booted up Fallout 4 for first time since beating vanilla game twice because I herd Far Harbor was good. I decided to use my 3rd character who was only level 17. He's 45 now and I still haven't set foot into Far Harbor. I redecorated all my settlements with Workshop items, I've beaten Automatron and have a Supply-O-tron and Guard-bot for every settlement. If I'm being completely fair everyone says Witcher 3 is better quality. But even in a hypothetical situation where I made it past the combat, I'd probably still perfer Fallout because of the very unique retro Sifi post apocalyptic nuclear winter Wasteland. The setting is unmatched IMO
