I almost play exclusively solo. I'm 35 with family and a kid and a demanding job.
I don't have time to learn to ride and my schedule make social game very hard. My average session of play is less then an hour, and I have no real life friends with a ps4.
So before the April update I quit destiny because I was stuck at 310 light and cut out from most end game content.
Then after the update I come back and...
Thanks to Iron Banner (a couple) I got 325.
Thanks to improved reputation drops I got to 330
Thanks to PoE and CoE i got to 333
Thanks to Sterling Treasures I got my hunter finally looking good (to me obviously, before it was more then one time described like the worst looking hunter in the game.)
Thanks to my new light level I can now solo endgame content like Nightfalls and court of Oryx and I finally made it to 335.
Now I can also enjoy completing missions that was too difficult for me to solo with a low light level.
I just felt to say thanks to Bungie for fixing the experience for casuals like me because I'm now enjoying this game like never before. You got one satisfied customer ready and looking for the next DLC.
Edit: Wow! Solo players are trending! Thanks a lot guys for your participation and appreciation!
Edit 2 : been away a couple of hours and the post blew up! Thank you all guys / ladies for being an awesome community!

Now that you're max rank, the community willa let you raid with them lol... Congrats tho dude! There's NO WAY I would play that much crucible lol

2 Replies333 solo player here. I've never done a raid. All I need is a 335 artifact from CoO and I'll hit 335. Everything else is already at 335.

That's awesome. I left destiny for a long time because I was the only one of my friends left playing. I have a great group of people I play with now but I still like to lone wolf it. Glad to see someone else that does the same and has a great outlook on the new changes.
-
Good for you man. Ive been a solo player from day one, and due to the fact i own a small business, i dont get time some days to even play. Not to mention planning a wedding now 😂
-
It's a good thing I agree...why should a casual or hardcore player have a different experience...they shouldn't. The only issue is for me that it's a little to easy for casuals to hit max light which takes the achievement away slightly. Max light used to be something to aim for now you just get there eventually.

1 ReplyI was in your position at how. With ttk I decided I wanted to enjoy all the content I paid for so I joined a few clans and ended up in the one I am now. It's perfect for me and I have been able to enjoy ALL the content unlike the opening poster.even though I am job kids etc. The problem is that the content was too shallow for players who could do all content so now we are maxed and getting bored again so the summer is going to be not to active on destiny.it was a bit better for the solo players but they are even getting max now. Before it was to hard.now it's to easy... I hope bungie realise this and find a bit of a better balance. My opinion anyway.

I hit 335 with my Titan and he doesn't know how to make a bubble or didn't make a single raid 😂😂😂. Just 24 hours of play in it. God bless infusion!!!

9 RepliesGetting to max light level without raiding is kind of like trying to conceive a baby without having sex. Sure, it can be done, but you miss out on all the fun.
-
2 RepliesNowadays I'm riding solo, but I wouldn't mind if COE had matchmaking , need that damn ghost

7 RepliesEdited by kittykun69: 6/3/2016 7:26:06 PMGlad they made it easier to up your light lv. Having to deal with a shit raid like kf combined with 5 morons is depressing. Hopefully the new raid won't be crap slapped together like with crota / kf. Destiny needs more solo content screw fireteams

I don't think that I have a great gun

7 RepliesFor all of you .. It's Time for a Lecture.. In games difficulty and fun factor have an inverse relationship .. which means that the harder the game is the less enjoyable it becomes.. And the easier the game the more people enjoy it .. Someone will say but for me i enjoy it more if it's challenging.. and i would say you are correct ... BUT ... if you keep struggling in a game you will lose interest and how fast ? .. that depends on you Example... year 1 raids was so hard at some point that 90% of people can't do it unless they have a certain set of gear .. Same goes for PoE when it came out .. But now you could play them as you like and be creative .. Another example .. nightfall .. Nightfall was so enjoyable in year 1 that i would do challenges with my friends and we would be laughing and having the best time in game .. (like use 1 specific gun only ) .. Now it became harder and even with the best gear it's annoying and has some bad modifiers combination with bad map layout .. If the game is easy to play then you can challenge yourself when ever you want.. If the game is hard then you have the challenging aspect of it but you lost the fun part ..
This my fixed belief
335 here too. And I also want to thank Bungie for making it possible to max as a solo player. I know I played a hell of a lot more, and enjoyed doing it. Even grinding COO for runes and Artifacts then soloing the first week of COE as much as possible. IB gave me the chests I needed for my other two characters. Great fun. Best since year 1.

Congrats man. Don't let those Raid only elitists trolls (ROET) get you down.
-
You realize how many bitter assholes are on the forums when someone posts a positive/thankful post. People are so unhappy in their own lives they push their negativity on other people. Anyway, congrats on the 335.
-
Congrats. Now do it two more times like everyone else that's been playing since the game launched.
-
they might be an awesome community but if you have anything you need to do between the last wave of level 41 POE and no one responds to the messages you send or repeated messages on the mic and it won't matter what your light level is and you won't feel the same way about this awesome community.
-
Congrat. Want a cookie? Or u wanna get it yourself..
-
Light level used to be of some how an indicator of how good the player is Now everyone is 335
-
...then goes on a social network (forum) and posts a message. Not trying to be rude, but doesn't that seem a bit ironic? Congrats, I understand the dilemma solo players face, but you could also use forums to find teammates! :) On the other hand, LFG is strangers meeting on the internet. Online matchmaking is also strangers meeting on the internet...why Bungie endorses one and not the other is also...umm...illogical at best lol. Props to you tho, that surely took some skill and hard work!

I think alot of people on this forum have been brainwashed in to thinking this game should be completed with friends. I'm here to point out that if you need friends to enjoy something, it's not good. I'm glad you were able to hit max level though. I remember in Year 1, you needed to raid. Period. It wasn't until the 3rd Iron banner could I hit max level. For one week. I remember actually calling the name "Destinies" because it's obvious single players aren't meant to succeed. It's nice to see the opinion has changed

I'm two pieces away but have never been close for all the same reasons. Never bothered me as long I was within 10 points for levelled PvP, but it feels great after 18 months to close in on max. Even better for second characters as exotic engrams make it an easy street. Congrats
-
Well done
-
Yea some am i and I've never been more bored of the game than now. Everyone is 335 so easily. Its not even a challenge anymore. This is why people are giving up with game and shoddy content (and lack of content).
