I almost play exclusively solo. I'm 35 with family and a kid and a demanding job.
I don't have time to learn to ride and my schedule make social game very hard. My average session of play is less then an hour, and I have no real life friends with a ps4.
So before the April update I quit destiny because I was stuck at 310 light and cut out from most end game content.
Then after the update I come back and...
Thanks to Iron Banner (a couple) I got 325.
Thanks to improved reputation drops I got to 330
Thanks to PoE and CoE i got to 333
Thanks to Sterling Treasures I got my hunter finally looking good (to me obviously, before it was more then one time described like the worst looking hunter in the game.)
Thanks to my new light level I can now solo endgame content like Nightfalls and court of Oryx and I finally made it to 335.
Now I can also enjoy completing missions that was too difficult for me to solo with a low light level.
I just felt to say thanks to Bungie for fixing the experience for casuals like me because I'm now enjoying this game like never before. You got one satisfied customer ready and looking for the next DLC.
Edit: Wow! Solo players are trending! Thanks a lot guys for your participation and appreciation!
Edit 2 : been away a couple of hours and the post blew up! Thank you all guys / ladies for being an awesome community!

5 RepliesCongratulations! I know you're busy with work and all that but if you ever get the itch to run with a clan, check out Dads of Destiny Battleborn. We're all dad's, are mostly pretty laid back and are always willing to help out with activities. At one point I was a solo player too and now I can't imagine what Destiny would be like without the guys from Battleborn in my ear.

If I can't get an exotic chest to drop and it be 335 I can finally have 3, 335s lol

5 RepliesAt 333 myself and same boat with 2 kids and the wife... playtime had been drastically reduced this year Just need me a ghost to hit that cap
-
1 ReplySame boat here - 334 and a half so far! No exotic warlock boots is killing me. Congrats to you!

2 RepliesCongratulations man. Of you're ever wanting to complete any of the raids let me know. My group is pretty much all adults between age 30 and 45. All demanding jobs with families as well. The raids are some of the best content that Bungie created. I'd hate to see you miss out on it

1 ReplyIm a solo player similar to you. I have my titan at 333. So close! Congratulations on getting to 335!

1 ReplyCongrats. I'm a solo player too who gets a lot more time in than you do, but I'm not good enough at fps games to solo CoE and the thought of doing PoE makes me nauseous. I'm predominantly a pvp player now. More so since the April update. It's strange, but the update was so rewarding that pvp was more productive. As a side effect, I went from being a pve predominant player to a pvp player. I have 3 at 334 (class items on all 3 holding me back), but I used vendor/faction upto 330 and after that shaxx's True Meaning of War x3, IB, and 3oC got me to 334. I'm with you, though. The game is so much better for players who don't fit into that stereotype of Raids and ToO. Besides, still being at 334 gives me a goal to keep me occupied.

1 ReplyThanks Bungie, for taking two years to work out how you want character progression to work. Maybe the Beta period of the game will be over soon.

2 RepliesCongratulations. As a solo player myself it is a great feeling to be maxed level again.

1 ReplyI do play with friends, but I also enjoy a good long solo session every now and then. I also love me some patrol, which all my my friends find incredibly boring (I don't blame them, I find it relaxing) so it is really cool that thanks to the infusion system and 3oC I can do whatever I want at any time.

1 ReplyWell done man. I'm in a similar boat. Been back a couple of weeks and am currently 327 light level on my hunter. Huge improvements to solo game play from what I last remember.

Nice!

2 RepliesYep was nice to have more options. I just need a 335 chest so 3oC rng luck will hopefully provide :D I think they're slowly coming round to the concept of letting people play the game how they like and still make progress ;)
